The MOBA LoL (League of Legends) has now officially announced its partnership with the French fashion label Louis Vuitton.
What’s new? In the MOBA LoL, new skins for characters are regularly released, which players can purchase. Now, developer Riot Games has stated on the website that upcoming skins will be designed by the renowned fashion label Louis Vuitton.
Louis Vuitton is designing a trophy travel case exclusively for League of Legends for the Summoner’s Cup. This will be awarded as a prize for the LoL World Championship 2019. It will be presented on November 10, 2019, when the champions are crowned.
Such cases have also been designed by Louis Vuitton for events like the FIFA World Cup, the Rugby Union World Cup, and the “America’s Cup” sailing regatta. Now, the designers are also entering the eSports arena.
The luxury brand Louis Vuitton sells high-end clothing for men and women, shoes, jewelry, luggage, bags, watches, and also perfumes worldwide through boutiques.
What does the case look like? Riot explains that the traditional craftsmanship of the Louis Vuitton brand will be recognizable again. In addition, high-tech elements inspired by the LoL universe will be incorporated.

What else does the partnership bring? In the statement, the LoL team explains that players can expect “unique champion skins”. Additionally, there will be a capsule collection from Nicolas Ghesquière, the artistic director of the women’s collection, and further digital content for League of Legends.
So far, not everything that this partnership with LoL will bring has been announced. The “full extent” will be revealed in the coming months.
How do players react? Players’ opinions are widely divided. On one hand, players are amazed at how far League of Legends has now penetrated the mainstream to secure partnerships with such big names.
Others wonder how expensive the items designed by the luxury brand will be in the game. In addition, there is much speculation about what the skins might look like.
“I’m a bit interested in the skins that LV will design. I wonder what theme they will choose. Will it be fantasy or more of a human theme? I think it would be interesting to see champions in normal stylish clothes (we do have some, but these will come from a professional designer),” says Reddit user Enjutsu.
What do you think of this partnership? Before the start of the World Championship, teams appear confident and unafraid of Asia:
