The boss Achates is a major challenge for players in Lost Ark. You will encounter him in the Guardian Raids. We at MeinMMO will show you how to defeat the winged white lion.
What kind of boss is this? He is one of the strongest bosses you will encounter in Lost Ark. You will face Achates in the Guardian Raid at item level 920 or higher. He is the final boss of Raid Level 3, so you must have already defeated the bosses of Levels 1 and 2.
You should enter the raid with a group of four players and bring explosive grenades. These grenades are important for the boss’s mechanics.
The main mechanic:
- Achates becomes invulnerable and teleports a short distance when he initiates his main mechanic.
- He creates a shield around himself that glows in a certain color: blue, green, or orange. The color changes constantly.
- At the same time, statues appear around him in the three colors. You must destroy these statues so that shards remain. You then need to throw the shards of the corresponding shield color at Achates. Pick them up with G and press Q to throw.
- When his shield is broken, he briefly falls to the ground, and circles appear around his wings. All four group members must quickly throw an explosive grenade at him. Attacks that stagger the boss are also useful at this point.
- If you do not manage to destroy the shield in time, Achates enters his berserk mode. He glows white and deals very strong area damage, so you should quickly move out of the radius.
Other attacks from Achates:
You also need to avoid the other attacks of the boss. Achates uses several more abilities until he can use his main mechanic again.
- Beacons appear over two group members, one in red and one in blue. To avoid being attacked, you must quickly get rid of the beacons. The two players stand next to each other for about 3 seconds to neutralize the colors above their heads.
- A white circle appears under you, and you need to move out of it to avoid fire damage. This circle can also injure group members beneath it, so move away from them.
- Avoid the boss’s white breath. If you fail to do so, you will be injured and will additionally receive the white circle under you.
- When Achates roars, avoid the radius. Otherwise, you will receive a debuff that reduces the damage you deal for one minute.
- A radius may appear around the boss that looks like a sliced pizza. You are safe from his attack inside the pizza slice or outside the radius.
Ultimately, you wait for Achates to repeat his main mechanic to break his shield and deal damage to him.
If you successfully defeat Achates, you will receive Tier 2 accessories, skill stones, and upgrade materials. You may also obtain the collectible card of Achates, runes, and engraving books.
