Last week, the upcoming MMORPG Lost Ark held a beta test. We wanted to know how you felt about it. Here are your responses.
The European release of the MMORPG Lost Ark has been eagerly anticipated by fans for years. Many of them were able to try the game themselves during the closed beta.
Which survey are we talking about? While some of you have already tried Lost Ark on Korean or Russian servers, for many others, it was their first real encounter with the MMORPG. Therefore, we asked you for your opinion on the beta.
We received responses from 1,485 people who voted (as of November 17, 2021, at 3:00 PM). Each participant could only cast one vote.
The numbers at a glance:
- Great! – 56.56 % – 840 votes
- Good – 23.77 % – 353 votes
- Okay – 10.50 % – 156 votes
- Not so good – 4.78 % – 71 votes
- Poor – 4.37 % – 65 votes
At first glance, it is clear that you were unanimous about the beta. More than half of the participants (56.56 %) found it great, and another 23.77 % thought it was good.
With 10.50 %, the “Okay” option came in third place. The negative votes, on the other hand, were in the single digits with just under 5 %.

What the positive votes say: The anticipation for Lost Ark among fans was evident in one of our earlier surveys. By July, nearly 50 % of the 1,621 participants had already purchased a founder pack of Lost Ark, among other reasons, to be able to participate in the beta.
During the beta week, some of you also played to your heart’s content, investing up to 50 hours in the game. This includes users CALL ME DEM0N and Daniel.
I played about 50 hours and have to say, I am really thrilled. 8.5/10.
Great game.
For me, it’s a great mix of Diablo and WoW. I played until level 25, had hardly any bugs, and already played some dungeons with well-designed bosses.
I will definitely be keeping the pre-order of the Silver Pack!
Notably praised was the clean gameplay experience with few or no bugs, even though some localization errors had slipped in here and there. At this point, Lost Ark benefits from having been running in other regions like Russia or Korea for several years. The serious bugs have thus already been eliminated.
The anticipation for the game is accordingly great, and some of you in the comments can hardly wait for the release:

What the negative votes say: However, there were also disappointments in the comments. For some of you, who had looked forward to the MMORPG beforehand, the beta was a sobering experience. ParaDox wrote in the comments:
Initially, I thought it was cool and exciting, but after 4.5 hours, the excitement was gone. I uninstalled it after 6 hours of gameplay. I just found it boring. […]
If my motivation to play it erodes at the speed of light, the only consequence left for me is to cancel the pre-order package and say that the offer is quite good, but I won’t accept it.
There was also criticism of the class system of Lost Ark. Some users wrote that the gameplay of the numerous classes feels the same despite different skills. This was also an aspect that contributed to disappointment for some of you.

Everything somehow felt the same, I found the fights actually – to my great surprise, as they should be the highlight – very monotonous, dull, and undemanding.
All in all, the gameplay quickly bored me. I would have never expected that beforehand, I was totally hyped. […]
How it went in other communities
Our colleagues at GameStar also asked their readers how they felt about the beta of Lost Ark. The results there were similarly positive.

- Not so good: 4.40 %
- Not good at all: 3.33 %
More than 60 % of GameStar readers found the beta at least good. The negative votes were again significantly lower with a total of 7.73 %.
