The game Lost Ark from Korea is reminiscent of Diablo 3 in terms of gameplay but offers all the essential elements of an MMORPG with raids, crafting, housing, and PvP. It has been playable in Korea since 2018. It is now officially confirmed that it will come to us in Europe next year.
How is the game coming to us? Amazon Games announced on August 20 that they have entered into a partnership with the Korean developer and publisher Smilegate. Smilegate is the developer of Lost Ark and is already looking for employees for a release in Europe.
According to the press release, the collaboration involves the publishing of a new game that is supposed to be released here in the West next year, meaning 2021.
While Lost Ark was not explicitly mentioned there, the Korean website Gameca confirms that Amazon is said to have signed an exclusive distribution contract for Lost Ark for North America and Europe.
What does this mean for us? Lost Ark is set to officially launch in 2021. However, there is still no exact release date.
As Amazon is handling the distribution, we can expect a German localization. After all, Amazon also offers this for its own games like New World and Crucible.

Lost Ark is considered one of the most anticipated games on MeinMMO, right behind New World and Ashes of Creation. This is mainly due to the action-packed combat system, the interesting setting with steampunk influences, and the fact that it simply looks like a complete and functioning MMORPG.
