The new MMORPG Lost Ark is coming to the West on February 11th. The developers as well as publisher Amazon expect many new players. However, these players are now wondering whether the game will also be available for PS5 and Xbox? We at MeinMMO clarify.
On which platforms will Lost Ark be released? Since Lost Ark is not a completely new game, but a title that has been successful in Korea for four years, the consoles for the MMORPG will not change.
This means that Lost Ark will initially only be released on PC in the West. Unlike the Korean or Russian versions of the game, which each have their own launchers, Lost Ark will be available in Europe and America exclusively through Steam.
A Steam account is therefore mandatory to be able to play Amazon’s new MMORPG. You do not need an Amazon account, which was still mandatory for all players during the beta.
On PC, Lost Ark will be released on February 11th as a Free2Play title. Pre-orders of the Founder’s Packs can already start exploring the world of Arkesia from the 8th.
Still play with a controller: Although Lost Ark is not being released for PS5 or Xbox Series, you can easily play the new MMORPG with any controller on PC. Lost Ark supports gamepad controls and can be played completely with a controller, more or less well.
If it’s all about the pure gaming experience, you can simply plug in your PS5 controller on PC and play Lost Ark; that’s no problem.
Is a console port coming?
Will Lost Ark come for PS5? A future release for consoles is rather unlikely, but not impossible. If a mobile or console version were planned, it likely would have already been implemented in Korea.
However, since this is not the case, we currently do not expect to receive a console version of Lost Ark in the near future. Whether for PS5 or Xbox Series.
What does the community say? The desire for a PS5 or Xbox version of Lost Ark is not particularly loud at the moment. There are some threads on reddit about this topic, but none of them have particularly many upvotes and many are several years old (via reddit).
Most seem to be fine with the fact that Lost Ark offers full controller support, while a few players are still eagerly waiting for a console release. More frequently requested, however, is a mobile version of Lost Ark, which is also not currently planned.
What PC do you need to play? The system requirements for Lost Ark are remarkably low, so you can play the game on almost any relatively current PC. A high-end PC with one of the currently scarce graphics cards is therefore not at all necessary.
You can already play Lost Ark with an Intel i3 or an AMD Ryzen 3, 8 GB RAM, and a GTX 460. Even on the best settings, you only need a GTX 1060 and a Ryzen 5. So it is very likely that even an old PC can still run the game without problems.
