In Lost Ark there are numerous different currencies. Almost everything related to islands or your ship requires the scarce Pirate Coins or Pirate Coins. How to best obtain them, we from MeinMMO will show you here.
What are Pirate Coins? This currency in Lost Ark is primarily needed for things that happen on the water. You can use it to pay at the trading ships you find. However, the wandering merchants on various islands also often accept these coins as payment.
Furthermore, you need them to further expand your own island and even for some Mokoko Seeds you need Pirate Coins. They unlock the Song of Resonance, which you need for certain situations in Lost Ark.
Last but not least, you can also exchange the valuable Pirate Coins for many other currencies, so they can also help you outside of sea and island. In short, you definitely want to have Pirate Coins.
Where can you quickly get many coins? If you haven’t been dealing with the system for too long, you will probably first want to have 16,500 coins to buy the Song of Resonance, which you need for some Mokoko Seeds.
Now it takes comparatively long to gather so many coins with the usual and permanent farming methods. However, there are a few quests that can help you out. It’s important to note that you must have reached level 50 for all of these tasks.
Once you have that, you can visit the following islands and complete the quest chains there. It takes varying amounts of time and is not always equally demanding, but in the end, it’s worth it. Since there is only one quest on the islands, we will limit ourselves here to the island names.
- On the Giant Mushroom Island, you can collect a total of 2,000 Pirate Coins
- The quest on Peyto and the Glacier Island gives you 5,000 coins
- You can also take 5,000 coins on the Island of the Runaways
- A bit more exalted, you will be rewarded on the Island of Exaltation with 6,000 coins
- You will be even better off on the Goldwave Island, where there are 7,000 coins
- On Kalthertz Island, you can collect 8,600 Pirate Coins
- Fermata, the Cradle of the Sea also has 9,000 Pirate Coins for you
- It gets double digits on Atropos Island, where 10,000 coins await you
- Also, in Blacktooth’s Cave, you can rake in a total of 10,000 coins
- You are also richly rewarded on the Island of Freedom. Here you can find 15,000 coins
- The biggest reward awaits on the Lullaby Island, where you can collect a whopping 16,500 coins
Since you also need 16,500 coins to buy the Song of Resonance, which you then need to use on the Lullaby Island, you practically get the song for free through the quest chain, provided you can advance.
In total, you can collect 94,100 Pirate Coins through the quest chains on the islands. After that, however, you will have to rely on the usual farming methods.
How to consistently collect Pirate Coins
What’s next? The best way to get the sought-after coins remains the quests on the islands even afterwards. Although the other islands do not give you anywhere near as many coins as the ones listed above, the quests there are still your best chance of obtaining Pirate Coins.
Eventually, once you have completed all the quests, you will have to rely on the rather lame farming options. You can earn Pirate Coins in the following additional ways:
- As a random drop while fishing
- For completing missions on your island
- Through events at sea
- Daily and weekly quests
What is worth it? The best way to obtain the rare Pirate Coins long term is through the events that await you at sea. These include adventure islands, ghost ships, chaos gates, and more. They all give you Pirate Coins as rewards.
If you want to farm Pirate Coins long-term and without major deviations, this is the method you should focus on. You can also complete Una’s daily and weekly tasks during this time, as they also grant you some Pirate Coins.
It is least worth it to rely on fishing. The chances of receiving Pirate Coins are entirely random and even if you manage to catch a drop, it is usually not significantly large.
Your crew on your island should, however, always be on the move. They bring you more rewards than just the Pirate Coins.
What’s the best approach? We recommend spending some whole days farming Pirate Coins. Then you can collect many in one go and do not have to wait for events every time if you only need a small amount.
You can track the events via the calendar and the compass. If you want to actively farm, just wait until the next marine event appears and join in as quickly as possible. That way, you can consistently collect the rare coins long term.
Exchange for other currencies
How does it work? The trading ships of the Tea and Libra Guild will also offer you Pirate Coins if you bring them other currencies in exchange. The so-called Voyage Coins they request can be obtained from almost all activities related to the water. Even from bosses on islands.
Voyage Coins refer to the currencies Guienas Coin, Kraters Coin, Coin of Arcturth, Ancient Coin, and Solar Coin. They can then be exchanged for different amounts of Pirate Coins at the trading ships.
Guienas Coins are worth the least, with 10 Pirate Coins each, while Solar Coins are the most valuable at 20 Pirate Coins. The remaining Voyage Coins fall between the two currencies.
