The action MMORPG Lost Ark is about to enter beta in China and Korea soon. A port to the West is not a priority.
Lost Ark is still considered a “wonder title” in the West, like a faster, better-looking Diablo 3. These action MMORPGs are currently on the rise in Asia. Lost Ark is developed by the highly successful South Korean company Smilegate, which is doing very well with the shooter CrossFire there (making a ton of money).
The big news for “Lost Ark” is that they have found a strong publisher in China with Tencent Games. They showcased the game at their expo and presented this trailer.
In the first half of 2016, the game is supposed to enter beta phase in Korea. Shortly after in China. For us in the West, a sobering news: There are currently no plans for the Western market. The focus is on the Asian market.
Well, it would have been strange to admit at a wedding celebration in China that one is still engaged to an American.
Is Lost Ark coming for Playstation 4, Xbox One or Mobile?
Console players get a similar answer. While there are plans to bring Lost Ark to consoles and mobile devices, the focus is currently on the South Korean and Chinese servers and the PC version.
The developers see the strengths of their game in the action combat system and the variety of game content, especially in the endgame.
