Furthermore, veterans fear a strong race where players who are not familiar with the game would be at a significant disadvantage. It is criticized that they wouldn’t have time to engage sufficiently with the game if they want to stay ahead.
Play at your own pace
What do veterans say? Although many fans and long-time players are not particularly happy with the Tier 3 content at launch, they offer new fans of Lost Ark a valuable piece of advice.
This is especially directed at people who do not necessarily have to play progressively and who are okay with not playing at the forefront.
User Yourfacetm_again created a reddit thread that quickly garnered over 500 upvotes. He advises new players to not let their own pace depend on hardcore players and not to ruin their enjoyment of the game.
You don’t have to rush from day one; you don’t have to focus on a build from the start. Enjoy your game and experience at your own pace. You will still have plenty of time later to change your main and level up secondary characters.
The endgame is always there, and it won’t run away. It waits until you are ready, and everything that pushes you to rush into the endgame is yourself.
How do you see it? Do you feel pressured by the update to T3, or do you not mind it at all and plan to play at your own pace anyway? Please let us know in the comments here at MeinMMO and share how you feel about it.

With the January update, Lost Ark announced new content that is causing much discussion in the community. We at MeinMMO explain why players are complaining about more content.
What new content is there? In the January update, Lost Ark announced some new features that we should get directly at launch in Europe. This includes three new continents as well as an increase of the max level.
These new continents also come with the first content from what’s called Tier 3, which is essentially the last stage of new content. This includes, among other things, the first Abyssal Dungeons as well as certain Guardian Raids and Chaos Dungeons.
What is the problem? One might assume that many new contents should please all players, but this is not the case according to the initial reactions to the update. In fact, the opposite is happening, and many experienced Lost Ark players are expressing their displeasure.
Many veterans see a problem with the new content of the game. It would quickly overwhelm fresh players and make some sections from Tier 1 and 2 more or less unnecessary.
Fans also criticize that even hardcore players might find it difficult to keep up. Due to the massive new content and the increased gear score, those who want to compete would no longer have time to equip secondary characters or even to experiment.
You would have to focus directly on one character and invest everything in that one if you want to keep up with the pros, veterans write on reddit. Especially concerning new fans who have never been able to play the game, many players consider Tier 3 a bad idea.
As user Well writes (via Twitter): “Tier 3 is a big mistake. You will practically enjoy nothing from Tier 1 and 2 and you have to play like crazy to get the important collectibles. People will rush at the start, and you won’t have time to try out other characters if you want to keep up.”
Tier 3 content at launch – But what is that?
What does Tier 3 mean? The content of Lost Ark is divided into specific tiers. This refers to a certain threshold of gear score that one can achieve at most in this content.
All content from Tier 1 therefore has a maximum gear score of 600. After that, one could not improve their equipment further. With the introduction of Tier 2 and the Feiton area, the maximum gear score was raised to 1,100. The maximum GS in Tier 3 is currently at 1,575 in Korea. Where it will land with us is still uncertain.
What does this bring in terms of content? With the introduction of the first Tier 3 content, there is already a higher maximum value for your equipment at launch. But Tier 3 content includes not only a new highest gear score but also an increase of the max level to 60.
There are also some Chaos Dungeons, a Guardian Raid, and an Abyssal Dungeon from Tier 3 that we can play right at the start.
What exactly is being criticized? Besides the aforementioned points, many players fear that some good content from Tier 1 and 2 could become completely obsolete due to this. The increase of the max level to 60 is also to blame.
Fans are concerned that there would be no reason to play the very enjoyable raids and dungeons from Tier 1 and 2 when one could simply quest from level 50 to 60 and then start directly with the Tier 3 content.
This is a bit like if WoW had started directly with max level 70 and players would have fought Ragnaros or Onyxia with equipment from Burning Crusade. The epic battles and the special significance of the bosses would never have been revealed.
