Finally, the MMORPG Lost Ark has received a release window for Europe. Do you already know which class you want to play first at the release? Vote in our survey.
During the Summer Games Fest, Amazon Games announced that Lost Ark will also be released in Europe in Fall 2021. There was also immediate information about which version of the MMORPG we will receive. After all, the game was launched in Korea several years ago and has received many content updates.
These classes are coming to Europe: European players will not start with the same class setup as fans in Korea or Russia. We will get our own mix, consisting of old launch classes and new classes that were released last year or even this year.
The classes in Lost Ark are divided into Base and Advanced. If you complete the prologue with a Base class and reach level 10, you can upgrade it to one of the available Advanced classes. So, for example, if you chose the Mage as your Base class, you will have the choice between Summoner and Bard.
The 14 classes in the EU version are:
- Gunlancer (Base class Warrior) – A “tank-like” class that fights with a spear and a shield and can buff the group.
- Berserker (Base class Warrior) – A warrior who fights with a great sword. In his berserker form, he can deal a lot of damage.
- Paladin (Base class Warrior) – Paladins use a sword and a book in combat to cast holy magic on their opponents and protect the group.
- Summoner (Base class Mage) – The mage class summons nature spirits and creatures to support them in battle and uses elemental magic.
- Bard (Base class Mage) – The bard attacks her enemies with the power of her music and can buff allies and even heal them.
- Deathblade (Base class Assassin) – A fast melee class that can use either daggers or a longsword in combat.
- Shadowhunter (Base class Assassin) – This assassin class not only fights with normal physical weapons but also uses the power of chaos that lives within them.
- Deadeye and Gunslinger (Base class Gunner) – Both classes are essentially identical but have different genders. They can switch between pistols, shotguns, and a sniper rifle in combat to utilize different skill sets.
- Sharpshooter (Base class Gunner) – The classic archer can set traps in battle and also commands his hunting falcon, which deals significant damage.
- Artillerist (Base class Gunner) – The class with the really big cannons. The artillerist can use bazookas and flamethrowers in combat.
- Soulfist (Base class Martial) – Similar to Dragon Ball, with Soulfist you can use regular physical attacks with hands and feet as well as shoot energy beams and balls.
- Wardancer (Base class Martial) – A fast and acrobatic monk class with very high attack speed.
- Scrapper (Base class Martial) – Scrapper specializes in melee combat and switches between two skill sets that require the resources Ki and Shock during battle.
The classes are “genderlocked”, meaning there is only one gender per class. Thus, all mage classes are female and all warriors are male. However, the developer Smilegate has started to loosen this restriction. They are releasing new classes that feel almost identical to the existing ones but have a different gender. Examples of such classes are Deadeye (male) and Gunslinger (female).
For more information and gameplay videos about the classes in Lost Ark, you can find them in our overview article. Not all classes that have already been released will be playable in the EU version. The missing ones are expected to be added in upcoming patches.
