In the new and final class preview video, Lost Ark shows us the Gunner. This comes with 4 subclasses and equips you with everything that can shoot. From bows to machine guns, there is something for everyone.
What are the Gunners? The basic class of the Gunner gives you access to a total of 4 subclasses, but they all have one thing in common: they specialize in ranged combat. While they can defend themselves in close combat, these abilities mostly serve to rebuild distance from the opponent.
When it comes to weapons, Gunners rely on everything that can shoot and take very different approaches. While the Sniper prefers the old-fashioned ranged combat with his bow, the Artillerist fires explosively at opponents with his flamethrower and bombs.

3 Gunners and 1 Gunneress – What the ranged fighters can do
What can the Death Shooter do? Armed with a whole arsenal of firearms, you enter the battle with the Death Shooter. You have a sniper rifle, a shotgun, and two handy pistols to choose from, with which you can switch at any time. Each weapon also brings its own skill set, making the Death Shooter one of the more complicated classes.
With your sniper rifle, you also have access to the skill “Spiral Flame,” which charges a shot and then deals massive damage in a straight line in front of you. It can even crack the ground and let out fire.
If enemies get too close, you have nothing to fear with the two pistols. With the ability “Death Fire,” you leap into the enemies and shoot wildly around you, causing massive area damage. You can also throw a grenade into the air and then shoot at it, which also provides explosive fun.
And if that’s still not close enough for you, you can use the skill “Shotgun Master” to split your shotgun in two and fire multiple shots forward that puncture everything in your path. With this diverse skill set, the Death Shooter is likely the most agile of the four Gunners.
What can the Artillerist do? The heavily armed Artillerist is not only one of the top 5 classes for beginners, but also keeps you alive for a long time. The Artillerist is the slowest and least mobile of the subclasses, but he can rely on turrets and shields to get you out of any sticky situation.
His large mortar can utilize a broad skill set and delivers exactly what one expects from an Artillerist. And a flamethrower. The skill “Air Strike” shoots a rocket into the air that strikes after a short time and causes area damage. The aforementioned flamethrower makes the Artillerist more of a close-combat fighter as he breathes fire at short range and consistently deals damage.
The “Gravitational Explosion” fires a sphere of energy that pulls all enemies around it together and explodes after a few seconds. If you adapt this skill in the Tripod, it can even become a pulsating lightning sphere.
With the “Multi Rocket Launcher,” you do exactly what you’d expect. You fire a whole lot of rockets in a fan-shaped spread in front of you. Not only does it look really nice, but it also deals a ton of damage. The skill “Napalm Shot” leaves a burning crater on the ground that deals damage over time.
If you’ve always wanted to be a walking machine gun, then the Artillerist is perfect for you. You can always keep a safe distance while dealing a lot of damage.
What can the Sniper do? Contrary to what the name might suggest, the Sniper is essentially the classic ranger of Lost Ark. Armed with a bow and a dagger, and accompanied by a bird of your choice, you rain arrows down on your opponents.
The ability “Arrow Shot” is the skill that must never be missing from a proper ranger class. It shoots into the sky, causing arrows to rain down from the heavens for several seconds. While this has been seen pretty much everywhere, you can’t have a bow user in an MMO without this skill.
With the skill “Dodge Fire,” you leap into the air and perform a backflip while firing a bunch of arrows forward that knock back your opponents. Perfect for escaping sticky situations and restoring distance between you and the opponent. The skill “Charged Shot,” on the other hand, charges a powerful arrow that explodes on impact, dealing massive damage.
If you’re looking for the classic archer and want a bit more action, then the Sniper is your class.
Genderlock was yesterday
What is it about? Lost Ark aims to gradually loosen the gender lock of the various classes in the game. The 15th class for the game, the Battle Monk, was a male version of the normally female Wardancer. A similar path is being taken with the 4th subclass of the Gunner.
What can the Gunneress do? The Gunneress is more or less the female variant of the Death Shooter. She also has three different weapons; for her, it’s two pistols, a sniper rifle, and the shotgun. However, there are differences in the intricacies from the Death Shooter.
With the ability “Bullet Rain,” she shoots with both pistols in a cone forward and can even move while doing so, providing high mobility and lots of damage. Just don’t get confused, because the Gunneress has a skill called “Sniper” and uses her shotgun for it. It sounds complicated, but it really isn’t. Similar to the Death Shooter, she splits her shotgun in two and lets bullets rain down on her opponents.
The skill “Spiral Seeker” shoots two bolas that spin around your enemies and deal area damage at the impact point for a short time. The ability “Focused Shot” charges a single shot from your sniper rifle that deals a lot of damage.
Although it hardly differs from the Death Shooter, there are still some intricacies. While both classes perform somewhat equally with the double pistols, the Gunneress has an advantage with the shotgun, making her particularly strong in close combat situations.
