For the year 2022, a ton of new content has been announced in Lost Ark, especially for the Korean version of the MMORPG. In addition to the new class, this also includes the open-world PvP continent Rowen, where you can experience massive battles.
What kind of PvP mode is this? In 2022, Lost Ark is set to get a new continent, at least in Korea. It is called Rowen and allows a form of open-world PvP where two factions clash against each other.
As a player, you choose one of the two factions and hopefully bring them victory. To achieve this, however, you need to focus a lot to keep track of the chaos in this battle.
The normal PvP modes in Lost Ark are played 3 against 3, and even the existing guild-vs-guild PvP battles can be somewhat chaotic with a total of 32 players.
However, Rowen takes it to the next level, as here you fight in teams of 48 players on a large map. Thus, a total of 96 PvP fans are battling for victory.
How does it work? Similar to the guild-vs-guild mode, just on a much larger scale. You start with your faction on a large map in your fortress. Each of the factions has a fortress at the start where they can respawn and are initially safe.
After that, you fight for a total of 8 control points on the map. The longer you hold these points, the more progress you gain, which you need for victory. Every 3 minutes, your faction receives 5% progress for each held point. At 100%, one of the parties wins.
In the 18-minute matches, you try to hold as many points as possible while beating up enemy players so they can’t steal your points. You can also make use of helpful gadgets like cannons and other siege weapons.
At the end of the time, one faction is crowned the winner and a player from that party becomes the MVP, or most valuable player. This player then gives the order in a beautiful end cutscene to destroy the opponent’s fortress with the cannons of your fortress.
Unlike in normalized arena PvP, your gear also counts towards your stats here. You can also rely on mounts and battle items, similar to guild-vs-guild. The mode promises to be a huge battle.

The Community Celebrates the Battles
How do the fans react? The new images from the battles are creating really good vibes within the community. Many fans can hardly wait for the launch in Europe.
Even some PvE fans admit that this massive brawl looks like a lot of fun. Also, because you lose nothing when you die in the fights.
Only when it comes to performance, a handful of people are bothered by the occasional lags and worry about whether the mode will run smoothly when it is released in Europe.

Lost Ark has quite a bit in store for 2022, at least for Korea. This includes the following content that is set to be released this year:

- A lot of new islands in the ocean
- A battle royale PvP mode where players have predetermined classes to choose from
- A kind of MOBA PvP mode is also planned for Lost Ark
