Lost Ark: Scouter Guide – The best builds for the new class

With the update on September 28, a new class comes to the MMORPG Lost Ark. We at MeinMMO have taken a closer look at the Machinist, known in English as Scouter, and explain what you need to know.

The Scouter is the 5th subclass of the Gunner. It has been playable on Russian and Korean servers for some time now, and finally, it is coming to us.

You are armed with machine guns and shoot lasers around you. In addition, you are accompanied by a drone that helps you in battle. It shoots at your enemies from a distance.

This is how the Scouter plays

This is the special ability of the Scouter: During combat, your energy gauge charges up. With a full gauge, you can perform a hypersynchronization, entering a special mode that makes you stronger. You can also use special attacks while in this mode. The mode lasts until the gauge is depleted.

There are 4 different categories for the skills: Normal, Drone, Combo, and Sync. In the normal skills, you rely on rifles and grenades to charge your gauge. The drone performs its own skills, and then there are so-called combo skills where you collaborate with your drone. Sync abilities can only be executed when you are in hypersynchronization.

All abilities of the Scouter:

Normal skills:

• Bullet Rain: Aim forward and shoot multiple times to deal damage and partially charge the battery.
• Overloaded Battery: Throw a battery at the target. It ignites, dealing damage, then explodes, dealing more damage, knocking enemies into the air, and partially charging the battery.
• Mobile Shot: Use rolls to quickly move toward the target position. Use rolls again to shoot multiple times at the target position, dealing damage, and charging the battery.
• High Voltage Ball: Shoot quickly with an electro-shocker forward, dealing damage and electrifying hit enemies for a long time while partially charging the battery.
• Pulse Fire: Fire a pulse cartridge forward, dealing damage to the hit enemy and partially charging the battery.
• Avalanche: Sprint forward and deal damage. Press an additional combo to shoot in a conical area and deal damage.
• Strategic Fire: Sit down and aim at your enemies. Shoot multiple times, dealing damage and charging the battery.
• Backflip Strike: Rush forward and draw your rifle to deal damage. Use the skill again to stomp with your feet and deal damage. Attach a powerful bomb to an enemy and then backflip. The bomb explodes shortly after.

Drone:

• Laser Beam: The drone fires laser beams that deal damage.
• Active Pulse: The drone generates a pulsating wave that attacks nearby enemies from its current position.
• Raid Missile: The drone fires missiles towards the target position, dealing damage and knocking hit enemies down.
• Blockade: Directs a drone to fly towards the target position. It spins and fires at enemies, causing damage.
• M143 Machine Gun: The drone flies towards the target position, shooting at enemies.
• Baby Drones: The drone sends smaller self-destructing drones towards the enemy.
• Carpet Bombing: The drone flies towards the target and bombs it.

Combo:

• Destruction Mode: Summon your drone, position yourself back-to-back with it, and shoot at enemies.
• Fiery Escape: Summon your drone and ride on it forward while shooting at enemies.
• Energy Breaker: Summon your drone and attach it to your arm. Charge the turret to stun and push the enemy away.

Sync:

• Comet Strike: Teleport to the target position, rush forward, and knock enemies away.
• Break Strike: Extend your fists, rush forward, and deal damage. Then deal damage in a conical area and knock enemies back.
• Blood Red Breaker: Shoot a laser forward and deal damage.
• Single Shot: Raise your right hand and fire a laser forward to deal damage. Enemies in the air are knocked back up upon hit.
• Laser Blade: Create laser blades with your hands that deal damage and knock enemies away.
• Ecthelion Beam: Jump high and shoot a laser forward that deals damage.

Awakenings:

• Air Strike: Throw a bomb to the target position that deals damage multiple times.
• Final Explosion: The drone flies to the target and self-destructs. It respawns at your location afterward.

The Scouter in the level process

How should I distribute my first skill points? When distributing points, it is important that you never need to raise the skill levels higher than level 10. Skill Level 4 is needed for the first tripod, Skill Level 7 for the second, and Skill Level 10 for the third.

Level 12: 4 points on Mobile Shot and Active Pulse.

Up to Level 21: 48 points on Destruction Mode

Up to Level 26: 20 points on Blockade

Up to Level 31: 48 points on Carpet Bombing

Up to Level 35: All points transfer from Carpet Bombing to Baby Drones

Up to Level 38: 48 points on Avalanche

Up to Level 45: 48 points on Raid Missile

Up to Level 48: As many points as possible on Mobile Shot

The best builds in the endgame

In the endgame, you choose, like with most other classes, between two class engravings. This decides your playstyle. You either focus on your drone or on hypersynchronization.

Class engraving A: Legacy of Evolution

What does the engraving do? Legacy of Evolution focuses on the hypersynchronization mode. It increases your damage, reduces cooldowns, and regenerates the identity gauge so you can quickly return to the mode.

Which engravings should I also use?  In addition to the class engraving, the combat engraving Adrenaline for more crit is worth it. You can also focus on Raid Captain to move even faster. Later, Reckless Blunt Weapon and Barricade are useful.

Which collectible cards are important? To further increase your crit rate, you should initially focus on the card set Howling Rocks. It consists of Armel, Seria, Solas, King Thirain, Kharmine, and Delain Armel.

Optimal is the set Light of Redemption, which consists of rare cards. Therefore, it will be expensive later, but worth it. The set consists of Shandi, Azena, Innana, Nineveh, Wei, Balthorr, and Thirain. With a 6-piece set with 30 awakenings, the cards grant you 8% more Holy Damage and convert all your damage into Holy Damage.

As awakening, you use Air Strike.

What does the rotation look like? If possible, start your rotation with the awakening Air Strike. Then you should have maximized your identity gauge and go into sync mode.

You use this sequence:

• Comet Strike
• Single Shot
• Laser Blade
• Ecthelion Beam
• Break Strike
• Blood Red Breaker

Then continue with these skills until the gauge is charged again:

• Raid Missile
• Baby Drones
• Laser Beam
• Energy Breaker
• Destruction Mode

Class engraving B: Arthetinian Skill

What does the engraving do? The alternative class engraving focuses on the interplay with the drone. Drone and combo skills are enhanced, you move faster, and the drone is docked to your character. The sync mode drops with this class engraving.

Which engravings should I also use?  In addition, Adrenaline is worthwhile, and later, when you have enough crit, Reckless Blunt Weapon. Also, Overlord and Awakening are sensible. You move faster, and your cooldowns decrease.

Which collectible cards are important? The collectible cards do not differ from the other class engraving. To further increase your crit rate, you should initially focus on the card set Howling Rocks. It consists of Armel, Seria, Solas, King Thirain, Kharmine, and Delain Armel.

What does the rotation look like? In combat, always remember that your drone uses blue skills while you use yellow, or normal, skills. Otherwise, you perform combos as often as possible. You can proceed as follows:

• Destruction Mode
• Mobile Shot (again)
• Baby Drones
• Strategic Fire
• Energy Breaker
