It is now well known that things can get pretty revealing in Lost Ark. However, the newest raid boss Vykas takes it up a notch. You have to type correctly while the demoness tries to seduce you.
What kind of test is this? In Lost Ark, the so-called Legion Raids await you in the endgame, which are particularly tough bosses that rely on unique mechanics and surprise you with new gameplay elements again and again. The newest Legion Raid in the western version is Vykas.
Vykas is a demoness reminiscent of a succubus. During the battle, her “charm” plays an important role in the gameplay. You always have to be careful not to fall for her too much, as it can quickly end fatally.
The climax takes place in a typing test. When this starts, you will see a small cutscene where Vykas lustfully moans in your ear and wants to distract you with her demonic body. You have to correctly type a random sequence of letters within a short time to pass the mechanic.
The more people fail and succumb to the demoness, the harder the rest of the fight becomes for you.
What sounds crazy fits into the lore of Arkesia
Who is Vykas? In Lost Ark, you fight against various demon legions led by the main villain Kazeros. Each legion represents its own sins and follows a Legion Commander that you fight in the Legion Raids.
One of these commanders is Vykas, who was introduced to the game with the June update. She leads the Legion of Covetousness, which may not be optimally translated. In English, it is the “covetous legion,” which can literally be translated as “lustful” or “desirous.”
But there is more to it than the succubus appearance and seductive cinematics during the battle. The legion specializes in bringing out the worst in a person and pushing them to the point that they attack their own kind.
How does this affect the game? You can notice this in the fight with the commander. If you are exposed to her charm for too long or type incorrectly while being distracted by Vykas, it can happen that you attack your allies.
This makes the already difficult fight even harder. It’s also exciting because Lost Ark intentionally breaks the fourth wall here and interacts with you as a player rather than with your character. Many fans of the MMORPG celebrate such a mechanic.

How do the fans feel about it? The mechanic is met with mixed reactions from the Lost Ark community, although there are many positive voices. Those who do not like it are more annoyed by the gameplay mechanic’s principle rather than by Vykas herself. It is often read that simple typing should not be a part of a raid battle. Others hype the boss because Lost Ark is doing things differently here.
Whether the mechanic is incredibly difficult or super easy cannot really be determined. Many people admit that they have great difficulties with the typing test, while just as many say that it is super easy to pass.
