Lost Ark was supposed to receive the next big update in mid-June. However, this has been delayed by a few weeks. Now Amazon explains how the postponement came about. One reason was the removal of Yoz’s Crucible, a feature many players labeled as Pay2Win and protested against.
Why was the patch postponed? According to Amazon, the delay was mainly due to three reasons:
- They wanted to introduce a new fortress research that will unlock at a gear score of 1,460, helping to advance additional characters in gear score quickly.
- Another focus was on combating bots. Recently, over 500,000 bots were banned simultaneously.
- They removed the system surrounding Yoz’s Crucible. This system was seen as Pay2Win and did not go down well with Western players.
It is now certain that the big June update will be released on Thursday, June 30. One day earlier, there should be more information about the fortress research and the patch notes for the update.

Pay2Win content from Korea does not come to the West for now
What was behind Yoz’s Crucible? Yoz’s Crucible allows you to recycle skins that you no longer want. From this, you receive materials and can, by using Blue Crystals, roll for a new skin.
At the same time, the system introduces some epic and two legendary skins per class. The legendary skins grant you stat bonuses, thereby providing better attributes. The user birkholz calculated on reddit that this results in about 1.9% more damage.
To obtain these complete stat bonuses, you need skins from the shop and to use Blue Crystals. Ideally, you can achieve the whole set with €334, and with average luck, you require about €532. This, however, did not sit well with the players.
How is Amazon reacting now? The system around Yoz’s Crucible is already active in Korea, but it will not come to the Western world for now. However, whether it will be left out forever is unclear. However, it is mentioned in the blog post:
We want to avoid players feeling that the skins in Yoz’s Crucible are necessary for gameplay. Especially when these are associated with significant financial or in-game currency expenses.
To apologize for the delay of the update, players will receive additional gifts. One is a Mokoko skin selection chest and the other is a growth package containing the following items:
- Destruction Stone Selection Bag x5 – with which one of these options can be selected from each chest:
- Class 1 – Destruction Stone Fragment (Bound) x1,000
- Class 2 – Destruction Stone (Bound) x1,000
- Class 3 – Destruction Stone Crystal (Bound) x200
- Guardian Stone Selection Bag x12 – with which one of these options can be selected from each chest:
- Class 1 – Guardian Stone Fragment (Bound) x1,000
- Class 2 – Guardian Stone (Bound) x1,000
- Class 3 – Guardian Stone Crystal x200
- Enhancement Selection Chest x10 – with which one of these options can be selected from each chest:
- Class 1 – Harmony Shards Bag (L) x3
- Class 2 – Life Fragment Bag (L) x3
- Class 3 – Honor Fragment Bag (L) x1
The growth packages will also be available in the shop for one month.
