In the MMORPG Lost Ark, there are many mechanics that rely on chance. Among these, the card system is particularly prominent. A player has now opened 1,000 legendary card packs and achieved a very disappointing result. However, the meager yield is not the only thing that bothers the fans.
How does the card system work? In Lost Ark, there are many ways to improve your character. One of them is the cards. These come in various collectible sets that grant you bonuses such as increased damage, more defense, or more health points.
To obtain these sets, you need cards of various rarity levels. The strongest and rarest are the legendary cards. You can only obtain them from very specific battles, with a bit of luck, or from the legendary card packs.
You can occasionally find these card packs in the game, but you can also purchase them for real money currency. When you open them, there isn’t automatically a legendary card inside. Just the chance of getting one. And that chance is incredibly low, as user SaphirSatillo demonstrates on reddit.
What exactly did the user do? SaphirSatillo has amassed a whopping 1,000 of these rare legendary card packs and uploaded a video in which he opens them all (via reddit). The result raises eyebrows in the community, but the video itself also annoys some viewers.

More problems than just the yield
What bothers the fans the most? Since Lost Ark has been available in Korea for several years, the yield was not very surprising. The drop rates for the packs have been known for some time, and the reddit user has almost adhered to them. However, according to the quote, he received a total of 4 legendary cards too few.
What annoys the commenters the most is the length of the video, which is over 4 minutes long even with time-lapse. This is primarily because Lost Ark only allows you to open 10 packs at a time. With 1,000 pieces, you are occupied for quite a while.
This does not have to be the case, say many voices from the community. The entire system bothers many, and this video would summarize perfectly why.

The general tone under the video is thus rather negative. Positive comments are currently hard to find. Only one “It wouldn’t be so bad if there were more than 4 useful sets in the whole game” can be taken as positive with some effort.
