And once again, a country is getting the MMORPG Lost Ark, before we in Europe can celebrate the release. This time, it’s Japan’s turn. Smilegate announces a new class.
Who is publishing Lost Ark in Japan? The Korean developer Smilegate has entered into a partnership with GameOn.
GameOn belongs to Neowiz (Bless Online) and operates games like TERA and ArcheAge in Japan.
Everything is still uncertain
When does Lost Ark start in Japan? No release date has been announced for Japan yet. It is uncertain whether the game will start this year. Perhaps players in Japan will see a beta in 2019.
What does this mean for us? Basically, everything remains the same for us players in Europe and gamers in the USA. We still do not know when Lost Ark will start for us.
Nevertheless, the situation shows that Smilegate is gradually granting access to Lost Ark in more countries. After Korea, Russia and China, now it’s Japan’s turn. It’s surely just a matter of time until a corresponding deal for the USA and Europe is announced.
When can we expect a release in Europe? This will probably not be the case until sometime next year. So, we still have to wait for the MMORPG.
What else has been announced? The Korean version is getting a new class called the Assassin. However, nothing further is known about this yet. It is also not yet known when it will be introduced.
Many are still looking forward to Lost Ark
What do players think about the Japan deal? Of course, impatience is spreading among fans, who are joking on Reddit that the Holy Roman Empire could be next before us.
It is also becoming apparent that interest is waning a bit, partly due to recent decisions made by the developers. The paid option for raids is being criticized.
What is the general mood? Lost Ark is still an MMORPG that many are looking forward to. Understandably, after the long wait and also due to the uncertainty of when we can expect the release, frustration is spreading.
But generally, interest in Lost Ark is still present.
What do players hope for from the MMORPG? What we see so far from the Korean version appeals to many who would like a profound, large, and epic MMORPG with action-packed combat and the perspective of a Diablo.
There is plenty to do. The battles look interesting, and group play is encouraged. Lost Ark could strike a chord with fans of online role-playing games.
Now all we have to do is be patient.
