Lost Ark revealed its new roadmap on Wednesday evening. It not only shows the new content for the next 2 months but also partially reveals what is yet to come this year. Among other things, some players may be very disappointed.
What happened with Lost Ark? Originally, the roadmap for new content in Lost Ark was supposed to come back in May. That didn’t happen and already caused a huge outcry in the community. With just one day of delay, the developers are now presenting the plan for the next months and apologizing for the previous communication.
In addition, Amazon is also providing a glimpse of the rest of the year and what awaits you as players. This includes numerous new classes. The highly anticipated Painter or also Artist will not be released in 2022, which will bitterly disappoint some fans.
Aside from that, new dungeons await you, a new Legion Raid, as well as new Power Passes and events.
The highlights of the roadmap: We will share the highlights by release period, but also give you a general outlook.
General roadmap:
- A new class is set to be released every 2 months for the rest of 2022.
- The first new class is already scheduled for July.
- A new express event and a free Punika Power Pass should help players catch up with the new classes.
June:
- The second Legion Raid Vykas will be introduced in June. It requires item level 1,430 for normal mode and 1,460 for hard mode and will complete your Relic set.
- The new Guardian Raid Kungelanium will also come in June. It requires gear score 1,460 and joins Deskaluda in the Stage 6 Guardians.
- With Thronespire, a new solo tower will come into play. It features another 50 floors and awaits you at item level 1,325.
- New skins are also expected in June.
July:
- The Arcanist will be the next mage class to enter the game. It plays with a card set and relies on illusions and speed. It is generally considered hard to play and deals a lot of damage.
- The well-known Legion Raid Valtan will receive the “Inferno” difficulty. New mechanics and better loot await you there, meant to show everyone how great you are. You can challenge Inferno Valtan starting at item level 1,445.
- Also in July, the Abyssal Dungeons in challenge mode will await you. You can complete one per roster per week, providing you with significantly more loot.
In the coming months, numerous “Quality of Life” improvements are also expected. The developers are also announcing bug fixes, new islands, and events, as well as new store updates. However, they are not going into further detail about this yet.
Amazon apologizes for the communication
What are the developers apologizing for? With the major update in May last month, there were some conflicts with Lost Ark players. It was about not only new bugs being introduced to the game, which have yet to be fixed, but especially about lack of communication.
Content that was promised in the patch notes did not make it into the game with the update. Shortly thereafter, Amazon simply deleted the corresponding lines in the patch notes. Some things also found their way into the game that were not announced at all.
This upset some fans, and until now the developers had not commented on it. However, with the roadmap, they are now making a statement about it and apologizing.
What does Amazon say about the accusations? The developers explain in the roadmap that no one acted willfully and that it was not intentional that certain content was missing or that too much was present. They refer to the difficult collaboration between the teams of Amazon and Smilegate.
They emphasize that it is a significant task to establish the western version of the game as it currently stands. Old content that came to Lost Ark years ago needs to be mixed with completely new systems. “When we merged the content and discussed the details, some little things slipped or were lost in the patch notes.”
