Since the release in the West, Lost Ark has become one of the most popular games on Steam. However, some issues are spoiling the fun for fans. A patch in early March was supposed to fix many things. Amazon draws a conclusion and speaks about further measures against bots.
What’s happening in Lost Ark?
- For some time now, bots have been compromising the Free2Play MMORPG. They flood the starting area and clog the already overcrowded servers. They primarily farm gold and trade with it.
- The players themselves combat bots with some tricks, but cannot manage the flood alone.
- Lost Ark has already banned over 1 million accounts of bots. Now, the developers are talking about further measures against the fraudsters.
This is what Lost Ark says now: In a new blog post, it states that the banning of accounts was merely “a step in the ongoing battle.” Work is already underway on internal tools and methods to prevent bots from accessing Lost Ark in the first place.
These updates are supposed to come “soon.” Additionally, they want to change the rewards of Rapport and Guide Quests. They are to no longer provide gold rewards but silver, so the system cannot be exploited.
Bots primarily farm gold and then sell it for real money. The team points out that trading gold for real money is prohibited and will result in a ban for both buyers and sellers.
Patch brings improvements – Big success, says Lost Ark
In addition to the upcoming measures against bots, Lost Ark is discussing issues that have already been resolved. With the latest updates, the matchmaking is said to have improved.
Furthermore, the waiting times on the servers in Central Europe are now significantly shorter. To alleviate this, new servers in Western Europe were opened. The bot bans are one of the measures to further improve this.
As a new feature, the developers are talking about a language filtering system for the chat. Using the “+” symbol, tabs can now be created, and specific languages can be selected. This makes communication, for example in German with other players easier – even if you are not playing on the “German server”.
In addition to the technical innovations and the fight against bots, Lost Ark is also receiving new content. Many of these are already known, as the game has been continuously developed in Korea for years, and we in Europe are playing a still not “complete” version.
Therefore, many of the contents that will come can already be inferred. Only the exact timing is still lacking. However, you already have a clear idea of what you want to see first:
Lost Ark will soon bring new classes to the West – These are the ones you wish for the most
