The new MMORPG Lost Ark offers several ways to quickly level up your character. In one of them, you don’t even have to play yourself. We at MeinMMO summarize the bizarre mechanics.
How does automatic leveling work? Once you have a character above level 50, you unlock a quest on your island. You can pick up this task near your main house, and it will lead you back to your island through several detours.
In the end, you have a small robot on the beach of your tropical paradise, where you can commission the automatic leveling. This is available in 5 different options, each with different costs and requirements.
However, the first option of the booster is truly interesting. This takes a character, with no prerequisites, from level 10 to level 50 in just 8 hours.
What are the costs? The costs for the booster amount to 600 gold. This is an in-game currency that is initially quite difficult to farm, but later becomes much more common.
So it offers experienced players a way to level new characters faster – without investing real money. Another option to achieve the same results faster would be the Powerpass, which is purchasable with real money.
In addition to the gold, you also need to bring 8 hours of your time during which you can absurdly continue to play the character. After these 8 hours, you are then teleported to a city, receive gear by mail, and have completed the entire story up to that point.
What are the other 4 options? After you have completed the first boost, you are level 50 and have a gear score of 302. However, to start the next boost, you need a GS of 460. You cannot simply skip everything.
The remaining boosters will skip the story of an entire continent. However, the requirements and costs steadily increase, while the 8 hours remain the same. For the final boost, the story of the continent Punika, you need a GS of 1,100 and a whopping 2,400 gold.
This video from streamer Saintone describes the mechanics in detail:
“This is just ridiculously efficient”
Is the boost worth it? The first variant of the booster, which takes you from level 10 to 50, is definitely worth it. 600 gold can be collected relatively quickly in endgame, and you simply skip a lot of content.
Streamer and Lost Ark expert Saintone confirms in his video that this boost is extremely worthwhile. He says: “600 gold is way too little for this. This is just ridiculously efficient. Level 50 in 8 hours, that’s faster than I would play myself. Just incredibly efficient.”
However, the situation is different for the other variants. Especially with the last stage of the booster, which practically skips the Punika continent, Saintone considers the boost to be more than unnecessary.
He repeatedly emphasizes that it would only take about 2 hours to complete the skippable content if played manually. Waiting 8 hours for that and also paying 2,400 gold is, in his eyes, utterly unnecessary.
The streamer also considers the remaining three levels of the booster to be more or less useless or at least too expensive. In the comments of the video, a fan confirms: “It’s just not worth skipping the entire way to GS 1,302 unless you have the gold to spare and want to get rid of it. But skipping the main story up to level 50 is brilliant.”
Will this be available at launch for us? According to the community manager in the Lost Ark Discord, the boost will be available to us right at launch (via imgur.com). The system has also been officially confirmed in the patch notes for our release. So we can look forward to the feature that automatically levels our second characters.
What do you think of the booster without real money? Would you use it or are you against being able to simply buy a leveled-up character? Do you see skipping the entire story as good content? Or are you more bothered by the gear that the game gives you afterward? Let us know in the comments here at MeinMMO.
