A curious bug in Lost Ark currently allows you and everyone around you to protect yourselves from annoying spam with love. What exactly this is about, we at MeinMMO will tell you here.
What is this bug? It is currently unclear how long the bug has existed in Lost Ark; we only know that love is currently making you truly blind. Players are now using this for various funny but also practical purposes.
If you write a heart in the Lost Ark chat, that is <3, the chat freezes for everyone who reads it, including yourself. So if you just want to be nice and then receive no reply, it is not meant to be rude; you might just not see the response.
And what’s worse is that you don’t really notice it. The bug doesn’t actively prevent you from sending messages; you just can’t see them anymore. The entire chat freezes at the point where it should display the <3.
Even system messages no longer appear in your chat window, and whispers and guild chat seemingly just disappear into nothing.
Since Lost Ark cannot display the <3 message at all, you should pay attention more often to whether your chat is working at all. For example, if you see an empty message in the chat and then nothing for a long time, love has probably caught you cold.
How do you fix the error? This is still not really clear. In our own tests, we found that it helps if you switch characters or simply restart the game. A teleport or even a change of channel or map does not seem to fix the problem.
Other players on reddit report that it can help to turn the respective chat tab off and on again, but that did not help in our tests.
You should therefore check whether your chat is currently working before you go into an Abyssal Dungeon or other content that requires communication from you. Because as funny as the bug sounds at first, the love of other players can be quite annoying in the long run.

How does the community react? A player noticed the bug on March 27 and shared it on reddit; since then, it has garnered attention and clarifies for many fans the previously inexplicable events.
Most players take it with humor, although there are some fans who are upset that such bugs made it into the finished game. However, most are having fun, especially regarding the spamming bots in Lost Ark.
A fan writes, “This is awesome, I no longer have to block bots; I can just love them.” He further explains that you can’t stop the bots from continuing to write, but even a broken chat would be better than a spammed chat, according to the user.
Other fans finally understand why people suddenly stopped responding to them. Or why the guild chat was practically deserted on a Friday night, when all they wanted was to show their love and affection, writes user NCNR8.
