The Korean version of the MMORPG Lost Ark continues to receive new content. A new continent and another class are included in the latest patch. These are updates that fans of MMORPGs wish for.
What’s new in Lost Ark? While we continue to wait for a West release, the developer of Lost Ark, Smilegate, keeps releasing new content for their game at a pace that many other MMORPGs would envy. Another major update has now been announced for early December.
The two major contents of the update are
- the continent Peyton, the land of the forsaken
- and the new sub-class Holy Knight
Peyton is located north of the Rohendel continent, which was added in one of the earlier updates. It is situated in the middle of the Dead Sea and has a single port that connects it to the rest of the world.
The community manager Risha emphasized that Peyton is a dangerous land that can only be safely explored by players with high armor levels. The only safe place is the city of Calaza, where most of the country’s inhabitants live.
The continent Peyton and the sub-class Holy Knight are part of the 4th major update that Lost Ark will receive in 2019. It is remarkable how much content the MMORPG has received within a year despite declining player numbers.
The previous updates included, for example, three new sub-classes, plenty of story content, and several continents.
A new support class
What can the Holy Knight do? The Holy Knight was quickly dubbed in the community as “the child of the Warrior and the Bard.” He is the 4th sub-class of the Warrior and uses a sword and a book as weapons.
The Holy Knight is a combat class that also has strong support abilities. He can, for example, enhance the following attributes of group members:
- damage dealt,
- attack speed,
- shields
- HP regeneration
Accordingly, his identity skill can switch between “God’s Executioner” and “Divine Aura.”
- God’s Execution should increase the range of attacks
- Divine Aura enhances the effect of your allies’ abilities
The resource of the Holy Knight is “Faith,” which he collects when he attacks or is generally in combat. From what is known so far, the attacks of the new class can probably be divided into physical and magical.
- The sword attacks are classic horizontal and vertical strikes, as well as a charge and spinning around his own axis
- Book attacks include explosions, holy projectiles, or beams.
As a Holy Knight, you can also summon an angel or a magical shield that protects against attacks. The Holy Knight will likely be the fastest of the warrior sub-classes with a one-handed sword.

When can we finally play this? The new content of Lost Ark will initially only be available in Korea as usual. The Russian version of Lost Ark will gradually receive content from the Korean version.
In March 2020, the new class Lance Master is planned in Russia, which was released in spring 2019. It will be followed by the two sub-classes of the Assassin. Russian Youtubers estimate that they won’t see the Holy Knight until summer 2020.
When Europeans will finally be able to play the MMORPG is still up in the air. Even though the developer Smilegate has repeatedly emphasized in the past that a west release is planned and Lost Ark “was created for the global market,” there has been a long silence regarding a possible European version.
However, Smilegate is actively looking for new translators with excellent English skills. Some fans interpret this as a sign that the developer is working on a localization for Europeans.
