The MMORPG Lost Ark has stubbornly stayed in the top 5 of the Steam charts for over a month. Why it is so successful, you’ll find out in the new episode of the MeinMMO podcast.
This is the topic: The MMORPG Lost Ark made a huge impact on Steam and recorded a player peak of 1.3 million, which was only surpassed by PUBG in 2018.
Since then, the game has remained in the top 5 of the Steam games with the most concurrent players, and over 500,000 players log into the world of Arkesia daily.
This stands in contrast to other new MMOs, which have lost a significant number of players after just a few weeks:
- The MMO New World lost over half of its players after a month
- The MMORPG Swords of Legends Online also lost over half of its players after a month
- The MMORPG Elyon changed its payment model from Pay2Play to Free2Play even before release, but that didn’t help either.
Now it seems that with Lost Ark, this “curse” of new MMOs has been broken. Although player numbers are slowly declining, it still belongs to the largest games on Steam.
Alexander Leitsch, Gerd Schuhmann, and Mark Sellner discuss the reasons for this in the new episode of the podcast.
