In Lost Ark, some life skills are waiting for you. But while you can simply walk past a tree or plant and press “G”, fishing is not that easy. Therefore, we clarify the question: How does one actually fish?
What requirements do you need? To unlock fishing, you first need to master life skills in general. This happens automatically when you follow the main story and then accept the purple quest in the village of Lakebar. It teaches you the first steps in the crafting world of Lost Ark.
This quest, however, initially only involves mining ore and chopping down trees. What is particularly tricky is that there is a spot in Lakebar where you can fish. The game just doesn’t explain how it actually works. If you press “G” at the fishing spot, you only get a message that your level is too low for that.
What does fishing bring? By fishing, you can obtain fish and meat in Lost Ark that you need for various cooking recipes. With these, you can then prepare delicious food in your fortress or even host large feasts.
With a little luck, you will also obtain rare pearls that can be effectively converted into money, and, as with any other life skill, you always have a chance to get valuable world tree leaves.
How to Fish – The Path to Becoming a Pro Fisherman
How does one fish? Once you have equipped a fishing rod, you can start fishing. All you need is a spot where you are allowed to catch fish. To find these spots, you can open the map with “M” and look for large blue fishing hooks.
You can find out if there are any on the map when you hover over the area on the world map. In the upper right corner, you can then see which resources are available on the selected map. If there is a fishing hook there, nothing can stop you anymore.
Now stand at a fishing spot and switch to life skills with the “B” key. Now hover your mouse over the water and press “E” to cast your line. After a few seconds, you can see a fish approaching your float.
If it bites, a red exclamation mark will appear above your float for about 2 seconds. During this time, you must press “E” again to reel in the fish. If you are too slow, you will end up empty-handed, but your crafting energy will still be used.
Levelling Up Fishing is Worth It
What are the fishing spots you can interact with for? You will often notice that you can press “G” at many fishing spots at a certain point. But this won’t help you much at first.
However, if you level up fishing, you will unlock fish traps at level 20 and nets at level 30. You can then place these at the predefined spots by pressing “G” and catch several fish without stress or attention. These skills, of course, also consume crafting energy.
Level 10 brings more loot: Additionally, you should level fishing, just like any other life skill, to level 10 as quickly as possible. This not only allows you to receive tickets for the platinum fields but also unlocks another skill.
With the skill at level 10, you can cast bait every 15 minutes. This bait lasts for 2 minutes and increases your chance of rare fish. Furthermore, the bait also doubles the crafting experience you gain from fishing for the entire duration.
