Lost Ark is struggling with queues. But this applies not only to logging in. Those who have reached level 50 and want to queue for an instantiated content have a 99% failure rate according to users on reddit.
What is the problem? Anyone wanting to enter PvP or a dungeon can queue for it in the MMORPG Lost Ark. This is known from almost every online role-playing game. However, these queues are plagued by bugs and severe lags. This results in various problems:
- Most of the time, a group is found, but you cannot click the “Join” button. The servers are so delayed that the click is registered much later, and the invitation has already expired. We at MeinMMO have also noticed this multiple times in our tests.
- Sometimes you queue, and nothing happens for hours; simply no group is found. This happened to us on February 18th. For over an hour, no group was found for a Chaos Dungeon.
- Sometimes you get ported to a dungeon and then experience a crash. If you’re unlucky, you were in an Abyssal Dungeon, which can only be played once a week. You will then be excluded from it and have to wait for the reset. A manual reset is not possible, revealed Community Manager Roxx in the forum.
Supposedly, the problem was not as severe in the early days, and even outside of prime time, there were fewer delays and crashes.
The players assume that many more players have now reached level 50 and are queuing in such queues. The servers seem to be having issues with this large number of players.
One endures 4 hours of waiting to not be able to play
How big is the problem? A thread on reddit regarding Lost Ark currently has over 2,200 upvotes and is high on the front page. Over 100 different users are complaining about issues with the queues for dungeons, raids, and PvP (via reddit).
The user NewAccountEvryYear writes:
People spend 4 hours in the queue just to get into the game and then are unable to use any form of instantiated content. No Chaos Dungeons, no Abyssals, no PvP. If you have to queue, it fails in 99 out of 100 cases.
The servers are so delayed that pressing the accept button is registered 25 seconds later, which renders the queue ineffective. Even if everyone clicks “Accept” immediately, it fails 99% of the time.
Some users report that there were also crashes in dungeons on the Russian servers. However, the support there was able to reset the weekly restrictions (via reddit).
Many are surprised in the thread that the bugs in the queues for dungeons and PvP have not received more attention. They fear that many players are not even advanced enough to queue for instantiated content due to the queues, and the situation may get even worse in the coming days and weeks.
What does Amazon say about the problem? Community Manager Roxx has commented on the matchmaking issues. In the statement, it says:
This is related to the ongoing stability issues with the EU servers. The teams are working to alleviate this and seek a solid solution.
When a solution will be available is currently unknown.
EU servers are overloaded, in America everything is calmer
Are the problems also present in America? According to reports on reddit, there are occasional delays on the East Coast servers, but a large portion of the queueing for dungeons and PvP is said to pose no problem.
The servers there also have much lower queues than in Europe. On some servers, you can even log in during prime time without waiting.
Recently, Amazon tried to improve the situation on the EU servers by adding a new region. You can find out more about these servers and their specifics here:
