Some EU servers of Lost Ark were closed due to overcrowding, but were briefly reopened. We will show you how the developers are now handling the servers.
What is the problem with the servers? Shortly before the Free2Play release of Lost Ark on Steam, the developers locked some servers. The team communicated with the players that some servers would not be open for character creation for the time being. Among them was the “German” server Asta. This angered many players who wanted to start there in the Free2Play version.
On the night of February 12, the team announced that some servers are now reopened. This includes Asta.

This is what the team says: In the forum post, Roxx from the Lost Ark team writes:
Please note that the list of servers with account limits can frequently change, and that you will need to restart your client to access a server with a newly lifted limit. We remain committed to keeping wait times low and hope this helps some players join their friends on more servers.”
How does it work? From our own experience, we know that the developers keep an eye on the queues and really close servers for new characters when the queues are too long.
Which servers are open? Right now (as of February 12 at 14:28) the “German” server Asta is closed. The problem is that the servers are currently very dynamically opened and closed. The official overview page of Lost Ark’s server status provides different information than the in-game server overview itself. We recommend checking the server overview in the game and relying on that.
In the following screenshots, you will see that within an hour, the availability of Nineveh changed from “Closed” to “Open”.

The German server Asta and other servers were open for a while, but then locked again for character creation. The servers are therefore opened sporadically and then closed again.
This is what you need to do: If you want to secure a spot on Asta, you should always check the server status in the game. We have observed that the server was closed for new character creation around 04:00 AM. However, the server status changes rapidly, so check regularly.
If your desired server is currently closed, just check back regularly on the server overview. But it is best to use the overview in the game, as it updates more reliably.
It is quite possible that you will catch the right time and can quickly create a character. Keep in mind that after a limit is lifted, you will need to restart your client once to then create a character on the respective server.
