In May, Lost Ark will receive its second major update since its release in February. The focus is on the new class Destroyer and many group contents. Highlights include the Legion Raid and a new Guardian Raid. However, you will need a high item level for these contents. Casual players will also find something for themselves.
What exactly is included in the May patch? The patch brings the following new features:
- The Legion Raid Valtan
- The new Guardian Raid Deskaluda
- The class Destroyer
- The new weekly activity Guardian Raids
- The hard mode of the Chaos Lines
- New activities in South Vern
- The new area Wildwings Island
- New PvE and PvP activities for the guild
- Neria’s Wardrobe – a limited-time skin shop
- Balance changes to many classes
- “Quality of Life” features, including summoning random mounts and new hairstyles
The extent of the update is therefore very large. Anyone who has slowly started to get bored after the first three months in Lost will now have many new tasks ahead of them.
When will the patch be released? There is no specific release date yet. However, it was stated in the latest patch notes that the update will not be released before the third week of May. Possible dates for the update are therefore only the 19th or the 26th of May.
New Raids will be challenging and require high Gearscore
What are the highlights of the update? For hardcore players, the two new raid contents are the big highlights.
Valtan is the first Legion Raid in the West. These contents are particularly difficult and require a lot of teamwork. As with Argos, there are checkpoints that you can reach to grab some loot and save your progress. Valtan comes directly with the normal mode (1,415 Gearscore) and the hard mode (1,445 Gearscore).
Deskaluda, on the other hand, is a new Guardian Raid that requires a Gearscore of 1,415. In this raid, you only fight against one opponent, whom you can even attack alone – if you want to try.
If you don’t feel like new raid contents, you can level up and equip the class Destroyer. This is a melee fighter who strikes slowly but deals significant damage. What’s cool is that the Destroyer appears in its revamped form, which has only recently been available in Korea.
What else does the patch bring? In the new area South Vern, which was released only in April, new challenges await you. In addition to the hard mode of the Chaos Line, there are also new activities, including:
- Thunderwing Area Boss
- The Chaos Portal of South Vern
- Ghost Ship of South Vern
- Chaos Dungeons of South Vern
Additionally, Wildwings Island will be released, a place where you can transform into a chicken and fight against the Rooster King for event coins. This sounds hilarious and looks funny in the first screenshot already.
For guild players, there is also a new PvP activity where you can fight against other guilds for conquest points. For PvE guilds, there is also a raid match where you fight against the Sylmael Devourer. The faster you defeat him, the higher your guild ranks on a leaderboard.
Players demand new skins and get them
What is the deal with the new wardrobe? With the May update, Neria’s Wardrobe will open for a month. There you can buy new skins, such as T-shirts, jeans, and dresses. After a month, the shop is supposed to disappear again.
However, it is unclear whether you will pay with in-game or real money currency.
How is the balance? The blog post states that Smilegate recently released a balance patch for many classes in Korea. This seems to be coming to us as well. Details about it should only be released with the patch notes.
