For some time now, the roadmap has been one of the biggest topics in the community surrounding the MMORPG Lost Ark. Now the developers are finally showing what awaits you in April and May. We at MeinMMO summarize.
The new class in April: Some of the announced content aligns with the roadmap that surfaced online a few weeks ago. However, this was later confirmed to be incorrect and withdrawn by Amazon.
But especially in the classes, there is a difference from the previously shown roadmap. Lost Ark is bringing a fan favorite as the first new class: the Lance Master, or as it will be called here, the Lance Bearer. In its place, the Arcana class, which was announced in the original timeline, must give way.
The Lance Bearer is expected to come to our version of Lost Ark sometime this month, April, and is the 5th advanced class of the martial artists. And the only one that wields a real weapon. She switches between a spear and a glaive, both of which have different abilities. The Lance Bearer has been highly requested by fans and is one of the most popular classes in Lost Ark. A new continent awaits you in April
But that’s not all that awaits you in April:
- The new continent South Vern will be the second Tier 3 area in our version of Lost Ark. You can enter it at Gearscore 1,340. Queen Ealyn of North Vern suspects that something is wrong in the south of the continent and sends you and Knight Commander Avele to look into it.
- New login rewards.
- New in-game events.
- Some new skins and other shop updates.
- A Feiton Power Pass, which pushes a new character directly to Gearscore 960 as soon as you use it. However, this only works if one of your characters has already completed the Feiton story.
- Various quality-of-life improvements affecting chat and cooperative gameplay.
It is expected that the new events in the game will provide some upgrade materials. Although this is not officially confirmed, the developers write in the introduction of the roadmap that horizontal progression should still be the focus. They also want to find easier ways for characters to reach the desired Gearscore areas.
The Destroyer follows in May
What awaits you in May? The second new class coming to our version of Lost Ark is the Destroyer. This advanced class of warriors was previously promised in the first roadmap and is now actually making its way to the West.
The Destroyer is slow and swings a large war hammer into battle. He continuously fills his identity ability to ultimately slow down and weaken all opponents in his vicinity, only to literally destroy them.
However, the team behind Lost Ark is a bit vague about the other announcements for May, especially regarding the new raids. But first, let’s go to what is definitely coming to the game in May:
- Introduction of the Trial Guardian Raids – Each week, 3 different guardians will be the focus that you need to defeat. These three special bosses will also offer special loot and will be adjusted to your Gearscore. However, note that you can only kill each of the three once per account per week. Overall, this means 3 loot opportunities each week.
- Even more quality-of-life improvements, including an overview of already completed daily and weekly tasks, some UI updates, and new features for the marketplace and auction house, as well as new hairstyles for your characters.
- The ability to summon a random mount so you don’t have to decide on one of the many different options.

What might await you in May? Amazon and Smilegate are still not completely sure about two special announcements for May. They pertain to the Guardian Raid Deskaluda (Gearscore 1,415) and the Legion Raid Valtan (Gearscore 1,415).
Previously, Lost Ark was criticized for the rapid release of new raid bosses like Argos. Many fans felt pressured and compelled to spend money on the free-to-play title. Amazon states in the roadmap that they want to curb that feeling. They want to allow everyone to play new content when it comes out.
Thus, they announced the two bosses under condition. According to the publisher, players should be sufficiently prepared to face these bosses in May. If this is not the case, the two raid opponents will be postponed again. A statement that should be well received in the community.
A look at the next roadmap
What comes next? Amazon emphasizes in the roadmap for the next two months that these are not all the contents waiting for you in Arkesia. They want to keep some surprises for the weekly updates, which will still occur every Thursday.
Another roadmap is expected to be released in June, once the contents of this announcement have been launched. Until then, Amazon wants to keep a close eye on player progress and analyze how the majority of fans continue to evolve in Arkesia, regarding both horizontal and vertical progression.
Furthermore, they want to collect player feedback to be even more flexible and responsive to fan wishes and events in the community.
