In a conversation between the 3 lead developers of Lost Ark about the 4th anniversary of the MMORPG, they discussed the tricky Legion Raids. Although these will be somewhat eased in the future, the next one will still be really difficult.
Where do the infos come from? On November 7, 2022, there was a livestream with the current 3 lead developers of Lost Ark. They succeeded the well-known Gold River in leading the MMORPG after he stepped down from his position due to health issues in the summer.
It was mainly about the 4th anniversary of Lost Ark and what is still coming to the MMORPG in the future. Of course, the Legion Raids are not to be missed. These are particularly difficult opponents for player groups of 4 to 8 people looking for a real challenge.
So far in the West, we have three of them: Valtan, Vykas, and Kakul-Saydon. Already in December, the leader of the Phantom Legion, Brelshaza, is also supposed to come to us. However, this may not please some fans very much.

What is the problem with Brelshaza? While some Western players have already complained that Vykas is way too hard, some of the veterans from Korea mocked on reddit and said we should wait for Brelshaza.
This tough raid boss received harsh criticism even in Korea and Russia. While the previous Legion and Abyss Raids are split into 2 or 3 phases, Brelshaza has 6 of them.
They are also so difficult that even experienced groups continue to have difficulties. Team members must play perfectly together, and even the smallest mistakes are harshly punished and can ruin the entire run.
Brelshaza requires not only absolutely flawless gameplay from each raid participant but also seamless teamwork and mastering tricky coop elements. And that within a scope that is too much even for the hardcore veterans.

Developers see the problem, next raid will still be harder
How does Smilegate respond to the criticism? Compared to the last Legion Raid Brelshaza, the current raid, Akkan, appears to be significantly eased. This was also planned by the developers from the beginning. Akkan places less emphasis on the teamwork of the raiders and instead focuses more on the skills of the individuals, and it also forgives more mistakes.
This is a direction that is well received by the community and should be maintained, but only with the one after next raid. The next Legion Commander to defeat is Thaemine and he will also represent the next raid.
As the planning and design of his fight are already nearly completed, he is not expected to be revised or eased any further. The developers are speaking of a “very high difficulty” of the upcoming Legion Raid.
In addition, new ways to farm upgrade materials are expected to come into the game soon. Many fans felt this was too slow, making raiding less rewarding. However, Smilegate emphasizes that there will not be a “Tier 4” for now, but only new ways to collect materials.
