The chat in Lost Ark and other MMORPGs is often hostile, sarcastic, and not a pleasant experience, especially for new users. However, endgame players of Lost Ark are now coming together and simply want to be nicer.
What is the problem? With the big July update on the 20th of the month, the new Mokoko challenge was also introduced in Lost Ark. This allows new players to be instantly identified by an icon next to their name.
One current problem in Lost Ark is that, while it has many players, most of them are in the endgame. Meanwhile, new fans of the MMORPG often struggle to find connection or real help when it comes to bosses and mechanics.
This often leads to new players being greeted uncomfortably in chat if they “play wrong,” as other players assume they are experienced.
Help is on the way: Now that new players can be recognized by the badge, this is changing. The Lost Ark community has therefore made it their goal to be kinder. A large reddit thread is currently discussing this and calling for exactly that.
The thread garnered over 1,100 upvotes and 172 comments in less than 24 hours. The author wants to encourage the community to use their knowledge not only negatively. He writes:
Thanks to the little icons, we now know that these are new players. We need to take care of them, explain mechanics to them even in low-level dungeons, and give them tips for their gear. Let’s all come together to be a better community.

This is also well received by readers on reddit. Many voices agree that new and returning fans should be supported. This can improve the atmosphere in chat for all players. Many experienced players even share their Discord names and server directly and invite others to message them if they need help.

“I fell in love with the community”
A player shares his experience and inspires: Almost simultaneously, user SirLulucious started a thread on reddit about Lost Ark to share what happened to him. The situation warmed his heart so much that he just wanted to tell it.
The user then describes that he is at Gearscore 1412.5 and is just one successful upgrade away from the 1,415 limit needed for the Legion Raid Valtan. In the chat, he sees two people talking about their alternate characters. One of them claims to have now gotten his 4th character to 1,415.
SirLulucious joins the conversation and expresses his admiration. He says he is very close to getting his first character to that magical mark. He just needs to farm some of the rare Great Honor Leapstones to do the upgrades.
The strangers are generous: As the conversation reveals that SirLulucious is just one upgrade away from reaching Valtan, one of the strangers takes action. He simply gifts the thread creator 16 of the valuable leapstones. Exactly the amount he needs for the attempt.
Some fans read the chat and gather to wish SirLulucious good luck with the upgrade. Unfortunately, it fails, but he still thanks the stranger. Shortly after, another stranger gifts him another 16 leapstones. This continues until he succeeds and reaches Gearscore 1,415.
He writes: “These guys, these legends, are the reason I fell in love with the community.”
Many players are joining in: In the now 78 comments of the thread, many players write that they want to take this as an example. Some even say that they regularly help other newcomers themselves. New fans are also speaking up, one even says he received 300 gold just like that to improve his gear.
Many users thank the thread creator for sharing this story. It restores people’s faith in the community.
