Lost Ark now has a start date for its final Closed Beta. Starting from May 23, players will be able to test the new features of the isometric action MMORPG for 12 days. The beta will end on June 3. But when will the game be playable in English or even German?
It has been almost a year now since Lost Ark last invited players to a Closed Beta. The 2nd Closed Beta then started in late summer 2017.
In April 2018, the Korean developer Smilegate, however, made a statement again and announced the start of the third and final beta test. The beta test will start on May 23 and last until June 3.
This means for us: There will be more information about Lost Ark again. And the brave ones will surely find ways to sneak into the Closed Beta of Lost Ark, even though it is not actually intended for Europeans.
Is the wait worth it? The beta brings many new features
What’s new in the beta? Primarily, players will be able to test two new classes, for which there is now also video material.
- Hawkeye is a stealth ranged fighter armed with a bow and has many crowd control abilities.
- Soul Master is a monk-like class suitable for both melee and ranged combat.
Additional new features include:
- Additional areas for solo players
- New dungeons
- Juicy graphic upgrades
- A card-based mini-game. The cards for this can be found as loot or received as rewards for quests
- Reworked favor system where players can build reputation with NPCs and form relationships with them
What is the Favor System? The developers have invested a lot of effort, especially into the multi-tier favor system of the NPCs. The NPCs will gradually open up to the player throughout the quests and tell him their story.
The community manager Risha from Smilegate explained in a blog post that the players are supposed to build an emotional connection to the NPCs through the stories.
In addition, gathering reputation for the individual NPCs in the 3rd beta is supposed to go faster.
What happens after the Closed Beta? In 2018, the Open Beta and thus the release in South Korea is still to follow.
When can we play Lost Ark in English or even German here?
Will it come to us as well? However, a possible release in Europe and the USA has still not been announced by Smilegate, even though the game director is clearly focused on the western market.
According to a response email from the developer, a release in the USA and Europe has not yet been firmly decided and is being discussed internally. For the fans of the game and interested players, there is still a glimmer of hope.
