The big June update for Lost Ark is coming on June 30, which means today, after two delays. We at MeinMMO tell you what to look forward to from Thursday and what exactly is coming with the new patch.
What will the update bring you? We can’t tell you completely for sure and fully right now. The patch notes will be released, as usual, one day before the actual update, on June 29. Nevertheless, there is already a rough overview of features that you can expect with the June patch.
In addition to new content for the endgame, there are also new events as well as some “Quality of Life” features that will make your life easier in Arkesia. A new class will not be available until July, as the Arcana will play its cards there. Also, the originally announced Yoz’s Cup is now not coming to the game, which has been a delight for the community.
The new features at a glance:
- The new Legion Raid Vykas comes to the game
- The Super Express event will be extended by 20 days to launch a new one
- The new Heartbeat Island event, where you can really enjoy yourself on an island
- A buff for honing that makes it easier for you to get characters to 1,415
- The new Guardian Raid Kungelanium
- The Tier 3 Tower Thronespire
- New skins
- The weekly reset will be moved from Thursday to Wednesday
- New measures against bots like CAPTCHAs and new selling regulations
- New daily login rewards
Korea is getting a completely new class in July, by the way. Check out the Aeromancer in our video:
New challenges for endgame players
What is Vykas? In May, the first Legion Raid with Valtan came to the game. Vykas is also such a raid for 8 players that is supposed to be especially difficult. They are, as the developer Smilegate says, the highlight of Lost Ark and offer exciting mechanics and a proper challenge.
To allow you to split this up, you have multiple checkpoints for the challenging and lengthy fight against Commander Vykas. Once you reach these, you can leave the raid at any time and return later with a different group, or just take a break. These checkpoints reset with the normal weekly reset.
Vykas will be available on June 30 in both its normal and hard modes. To challenge her, you need a Gearscore of 1,430 or 1,460 for hard mode. Rewards include Relic-level equipment and other familiar rewards.
What is Kungelanium? The ice beast Kungelanium is the new Guardian Raid that comes to Arkesia with the June update. It joins the guardians of level 6 and promises the usual rewards you know from Guardian Raids.
Unlike Legion Raids, you fight here with a maximum of 4 players. However, if you’re looking for a special challenge, you can also challenge Kungelanium with fewer players or even alone.
The new Guardian Raid requires a Gearscore of 1,460 from you before you can face the nasty turtle.
New content for single players: But even if 4 or 8 players are too much for you, new challenges await players in the endgame. After the two towers Shadowspire and Fatespire, the third tower comes to the game in the June update: Thronespire.
Similar to what you are already used to, you will fight your way through various floors in the tower alone and receive special loot for each completed level. However, it is a bit different this time, because although there are again a total of 50 floors, the last 25 behave fundamentally differently than you currently know.
Think of the last 25 floors of Thronespire as a kind of leaderboard. Here, you need to rush through the levels multiple times, trying to be as fast as possible to climb up the ladder. To enter Thronespire, you need a Gearscore of 1,325.
There is also much to gain for players with a low Gearscore
Super Express Event extended: Although there are no directly new content for players who do not yet have a high Gearscore, it will be made easier for them again to reach it. A significant part of this is the Super Express event, which was originally only supposed to last until June 30.
This event will now be extended by 20 days, until July 20. During the event, you can choose one of your characters and then receive a lot of rewards for what you are already doing anyway. Additionally, improving your equipment is simplified and cheaper than without the event.
However, to receive these rewards, you must select a character to start the event by June 30 at the latest. This will no longer be possible in July. However, the developers stated that a new Super Express event is in the works. When it will start is currently still unclear.
Even more events: No one knows yet what the new event will look like. However, the name is already known, and it is about Heartbeat Island. The whole thing is somewhat designed like a festival, where you are supposed to celebrate together with others and really let loose.
During the various activities at the event, you can collect event coins again and exchange them for the usual rewards. Additionally, you can expect hourly quests, in which you need to win a dance battle, and during the downtime, there are indeed rewards for just doing nothing.
So let’s head to Heartbeat Island to unwind from the difficult raids.
The Honing buff is coming: For players who already have a character in the higher Gearscore range, the mechanics of this buff is not new. The principle is relatively simple: If you have a character at a certain Gearscore, you can research a buff in your stronghold. This then increases the chance for all other characters on the account to upgrade up to a certain Gearscore.
So far, this buff stopped relatively early in Tier 3, but that is now supposed to change. If you have already reached item level 1,460, you can research the new Honing buff and thereby push characters to 1,415 more easily. This corresponds to a complete legendary equipment set at +15.
This makes life easier, especially for those who play many characters.
New skins and more gifts
New skins despite the removal of the cup: Originally announced for the June update was Yoz’s Cup. With this, you could have drawn new skins using a kind of gambling mechanic.
Since this cup will no longer be included in the June update due to heavy criticism from the community, the new skins will now be available for purchase, even if they are not exactly the same. Thus, Lost Ark adheres to the principle of bringing new costumes in every monthly patch.
Additionally, there are free skins that you can choose when you log in. These are the cute Mokoko skin sets, of which you can have one for free. They are thus included in the gifts that are thanks to the delay.
Gifts due to the delay: Aside from the skins, there are additional items for you for free, which also take a more practical approach. It mainly concerns upgrade materials that you can choose for the tier you are at. Therefore, you will receive for free:
- 5 boxes of weapon upgrade materials, either 1,000 pieces from Tier 1 or 2, or 200 from Tier 3
- 12 boxes of armor upgrade materials, either 1,000 pieces from Tier 1 or 2, or 200 pieces from Tier 3
- 10 bags of shards needed for upgrading. Each contains 3 bags from Tier 1 and 2 or one from Tier 3.
What do you think of the June update? Are you looking forward to what is coming or would you have preferred something different? Feel free to let us know in the comments here on MeinMMO.
