Today, on August 24, the big “Under the Sun” update for Lost Ark is released. It brings not only new skins and features but also meaningful improvements for the MMORPG as well as new restrictions. We at MeinMMO summarize.
What’s coming in the update? The big August update “Under the Sun” focuses, as the name suggests, on summer. You can expect some new features, which we have presented in detail in a separate article.
However, there is also new information, especially regarding bug fixes and the Power Passes. After almost 3.5 weeks, the paid Power Passes are being activated again. As compensation for the long downtime, there is a 25% discount on all passes until September 7.
However, new restrictions also come with the passes, which everyone can now use. This is primarily aimed at new players, as these restrictions only apply when the highest gear score on your account is increased through the use of a Power Pass.
So if you purchase a Power Pass that boosts you to gear score 1,302 and you previously had only a character with item level 460, the following restrictions apply to you for 72 hours:
- The gold payment request cannot be received
- Gold cannot be sent as a mail attachment
- Items cannot be sent as a mail attachment
- Currency cannot be sent during a 1:1 trade
- Items cannot be offered during a 1:1 trade
- Items cannot be bought or registered on the market
- Items cannot be bought, auctioned, or registered at the auction house
- You cannot participate in loot auctions
- Crystals cannot be purchased
Additionally, you can look forward to new login rewards and the reset of all monthly purchasable items.

Lost Ark is offline today, August 24, for 4 hours
How long is the server status offline? As usual, the servers will go offline today at 9:00 AM German time and will remain so for the August update for approximately four hours. After that, you can log in and enjoy the new content.
We will keep you updated on when the servers go back online and will accordingly update this article.
Exceptionally, you also have to expect a larger update on Steam, as some new skins and thus new textures need to be incorporated into the game. The pet ranch is also unlikely to be small.
