In Lost Ark the next big patch will be released on May 19. Meanwhile, the patch notes have also been published. In addition to the Destroyer class, there is a new raid and dozens of “Quality of Life” adjustments. We at MeinMMO summarize everything important regarding the update and server maintenance.
What are the highlights of the update? Even before the patch notes, it was known that the update brings some new features, including the Destroyer class, the new Legion raid Valtan, and the Guardian raid Deskaluda.

But there are also some highlights in the patch notes themselves that we do not want to withhold from you:
- A new menu for dungeons will be introduced, listing all available dungeons and raids
- There is now an auto-run function to self-defined goals on the map
- The game will now inform you in the UI whether you are attacking enemies from the side or from behind
- Two accessories with the same name can now be equipped at the same time
- There are 5 new hairstyles for the five basic classes
- The auction house has received new and better search options
- The strong Madness Berserker build received a nerf
- The Scrapper, on the other hand, received a buff – which was also needed, because in the tier list the Scrapper is currently at the bottom in PvP
- In general, there are many balance adjustments and some important bug fixes
When will the patch be exactly released? The update will be rolled out on May 19 at 9:00 AM German time. The maintenance is expected to last about 4 hours. During this time, the servers will be down.
It is expected that you will be able to play the new patch around 1:00 PM.
Lost Ark – Patch Notes on May 19
Below you will find the official German patch notes, embedded from the main page (via Lost Ark). The balance changes have not yet been translated into German. We will adjust these as soon as they are available.
Valtan’s Legion Raid
Valtan will be the first Legion raid in the western version of Lost Ark. Legion raids are challenging team-based activities that require teamwork to understand and implement the strategy necessary to combat the unique characteristics, skills, and mechanics of each Legion commander. Since Legion raids are demanding and require time, there are portals (or checkpoints) that save the players’ progress during the raid.
Valtan is a Legion raid for eight players, has two portals, and introduces a whole series of new mechanics. Players must have reached item level 1415 to face the normal difficulty, and 1445 for the hard difficulty. More details on how to participate in Valtan’s Legion raid and about the new mechanics such as the Star Caller skills and rewards can be found in the Lost Ark Academy for Valtan.
New Advanced Class – Destroyer
Equipped with a variety of skills focused on rushing into the center of battle, their hammer attacks are so catastrophic that Destroyers can manipulate gravity at their will – slowing, tossing, pushing, and pulling enemies – whatever is necessary to completely annihilate them without a doubt. The Destroyer is the fourth advanced class of warriors, alongside Berserker, Paladin, and Gunlancer. New Activities
Deskaluda Guardian Raid
A new guardian will rise and must be defeated before it brings about an age of darkness. For Deskaluda, an item level of 1415 is required. As with the other guardian raids, you can attempt to defeat Deskaluda alone, with a group, or via match search with up to three other heroes.
Trial Guardians
Every week, players can attempt to defeat three Trial Guardians. Each guardian can only be entered with a specific item level, and each week a guardian is replaced by a new opponent. Trial Guardians raids differ from regular guardian raids not only by harder opponents but also by applying the “Harmony Scales,” which adjusts your characters’ item levels to that of the opponent. A greater challenge also brings more loot! The rewards for each Trial Guardian can be collected once per squad and are more varied than those for normal guardian raids.
Guild Activities
Being part of a guild has already been helpful for finding raid groups and utilizing benefits such as the guild shop. With this update, new PvE and PvP guild activities are also being introduced. Take on challenges across Arkesia to lead guilds and prove that your guild is the best in the world.
- Island Siege – A PvP guild activity where you compete against other guilds in PvP battles. Your rank will be determined by how many points you gain through conquering objectives and defeating enemy players. Receive rewards and effects such as gems, accessories, skill stones, and more.
- Raid Match – Enter a stronghold with your guild and challenge the mighty Sylmael Devourer. After summoning, you have a limited time to work together with your guild to quickly eliminate the Sylmael Devourer. The faster you kill it, the higher you will rise in the guild ranking.
If you are not part of a guild yet, it’s time to start looking! You can use the key combination [Alt-U] or find the guild menu in the list of menus by pressing the Escape key. When you’re there and don’t have a guild yet, take a look around and apply! Many fantastic Lost Ark streamers also have a number of guilds for their community. So check if there are guilds for a community or friends group that you might already belong to.
Content from South Vern
- There are 3 new levels of chaos dungeons in South Vern. To participate, you must first complete the quest “Chaos Invasion Wave” in South Vern. Required item levels for participation:
- Level 1: 1415
- Level 2: 1445
- Level 3: 1475
- Chaos portal from South Vern and corresponding secret dungeons added. Participation possible from item level 1415.
- Spirit ship from South Vern added. Participation possible from item level 1415.
- Hard mode for Chaos Line added. Participation possible from item level 1415.
- Thunderwing area boss added to South Vern. Item level 1460 is recommended, but as with other area bosses in the open world, players of lower levels can also participate.
Wildwing Island
Arkesia is a vast land filled with a variety of dire and sometimes less dire threats. In search of revenge for the consumption of their friends and family, the Crispy Golden Chicken Kings plan to raid the island. Players transform into a chicken or beer and fight against the Chicken King boss to earn event coins. The faster you defeat the waves of enemies, the faster more Chicken Kings will appear, and the more coins you can earn!
Wildwing Island is a new event island that appears every hour to the west of Tortoyk where you can participate in co-op quests or help out alone to quell this unique uprising. As a reward, there are relationship chests, enhancement materials, Pheons, card packs, silver, and more!
Shop Updates
Neria’s Wardrobe
Neria’s Wardrobe is a limited-time skin shop that sells individual skins (head, chest, pants, etc.). Players can buy individual items for their character, such as snapback caps, t-shirts, jeans, fit-and-flare dresses, and more. Your character will wear modern clothing during their battles against epic bosses. Neria’s Wardrobe can be accessed through the new “Dressing Room” tab at the top of the shop in the game.
New Cosmetic Items
In the in-game shop, there is a new collection of cosmetic items available for purchase using crystals or Royal Crystals as well as an exclusive Destroyer skin. Browse the in-game shop and find the packages or individual items that best suit your needs and style.
General Innovations in the Shop
- There are now Destroyer special packages, including the skin set “Shushire’s Will” and several other valuable items for your adventures.
- In the May update, there are also some other minor innovations in the shop, such as adjusting the item quantities in Mari’s secret shop and some new crystal packages.
- There is now a button that allows players to preview skins from selection chests in their inventory before making a choice.
General Updates and Comfort Adjustments
Innovations in Character Customization
- There are 5 new hairstyles for each of the five classes (Warrior, Sorceress, Gunner, Assassin, and Martial Artist).
- There are 5 new warrior presets without facial hair.
- There are now human ears for the mage class.
- A scroll bar has been added in the hairstyle selection.
New Menus, Options, and Settings
- There is now an “Integrated Dungeon” menu that lists all dungeons and raids available for players which can be entered directly.
- You can access this menu by selecting “Integrated Dungeon” below the minimap or by pressing [ALT] + [Q].
- Players can now press [ESC] to view their character’s participation status in various content in the in-game menu.
- In the settings menu, players can now set up a chat macro that gets displayed when a skill is used.
- There are now settings for preferred mounts. Preferred mounts will be summoned randomly.
- Options and settings for looting, automatic disassembly, and loot notifications have been improved.
- There is now an option to exclude items with specific engravings from automatic disassembly.
- Options for integrated presets have been improved.
- You can now apply integrated presets to utilize tripod effects in the skill tree inventory. This effect is applied immediately to the skill and does not override your equipment.
- There is now an option to change your integrated preset upon entering all endgame content such as chaos dungeons, abyss raids, legion raids, etc.
- You can now automatically summon a specified companion with the integrated preset.
- You can now specify which characters receive gold rewards from certain activities such as Abyss dungeons, Abyss raids, and Legion raids. A maximum of 6 characters can still earn gold per activity.
- A new group finder has been added and group invitation improvements have been made.
- Players who are offline will not be shown in the group invitation interface.
- If you request a match search in the group finder lobby or attempt to enter other content, a window will pop up asking you to confirm leaving the lobby.
- There is now a dropdown menu in the group finder (in the “Legion Raid” section) where you can choose which gate you are looking for team members, as legion raids can be entered through various gates. More about the gates can be found in the Lost Ark Academy for Valtan’s Legion Raid [Link].
- The new tab “Toys” has been added to the interaction menu where players can save their transformations and equippable toys.
Improvements in Market and Auction House
- You can now search more specifically in the advanced search options in the auction house. You can also reset search presets in the advanced search options by deleting search options.
- If an item listed in the market or auction house is available for less than 3 hours but still longer than 5 minutes, you can relist it. You will pay the listing fee again and receive your old listing fee back by mail. If you want to delete a listing within this timeframe instead, your listing fee will be returned to you by mail along with the item. If an item is sold while you want to relist or delete a listing, you will receive the paid listing fee back immediately. If the offered product is only available for less than 5 minutes, you will not be able to relist or delete the offer.
- You can now directly see in the auction house interface how many Pheons you have.
Improvements in Fortresses
- Improvements and updates to farms
- In the new farm menu, you can now select resources and plant them in the plots. Planted resources can be harvested every morning. In your notifications or management mode, you will see the resources that can be harvested.
- Depending on the research level, you can harvest magnificent resources that provide you with more rewards.
- Master skills and passive effects delivered by skill levels do not provide bonuses when gathering resources on the fortress farm.
- No Unas tasks or guild requests related to trade skills can now be completed from the fortress farm resources.
- General improvements for fortresses
- Limits are now shown to make it easier for you to see where buildings can be placed.
- By pressing [CTRL], you can now select multiple buildings at once.
- The inventory limit for certain fortress buildings has been increased from 99 to 999.
- You can now send more than one expedition to the same special mission at the expedition station. If a crew member you manually added is the same as in an automatic formation, the automatic formation button will be inactive.
General Updates
- The reward series for daily login has been updated.
- Two accessories with the same name (e.g., two “Rings of the Realm”) can now be equipped at the same time.
- There are now displays for frontal and ambush attacks when fighting bosses, making it easier to see where your attack lands.
- Shape and size of the displays can be adjusted. This can be done under settings > gameplay > controls and display.
- Shortcuts in the guardian maps Frosthaven and Misty Chamber have now been added.
- Chat messages from the raid leader are now highlighted.
- Symbol search on the world map and searching the dungeon map have been improved. You can now search for goals on a different floor.
- When collecting symbol items, the hint now indicates in which inventory they are stored.
- The amount of silver in the South Vern access ticket chest at the guild vendor has been increased from 37,000 to 42,000.
- There is now a level limit of 1415 to receive gold rewards from “Oreha’s Well” abyss dungeons. This applies to both normal and hard mode.
- Improvements on Monte Island:
- Players can now enter Monte Island from a fixed spot.
- A compass has been added to help players easily reach the cooperative quest location.
- The number of participants in the cooperative quest “Gentle Dreams” has been reduced to 30.
- To defeat the strange treasure chest, you must use the frying pan with F5.
- Strange treasure chests now provide more notes but no longer give silver or gold.
- You no longer lose your alcohol bonus when switching to another area. Certain alcoholic beverages now have a 10-minute lasting bonus.
- Sweet Mojito and Punika Gin can now be refilled by bringing your empty bottle to Gali in the village of Nia.
- There is now an NPC for “Quality Upgrade” in all major cities where players can improve the quality of relic gear obtained from legion raids for gold.
- The cooldown for the excavation skill “Tracking Dog” has been reduced from 5 to 3 minutes.
- The expanded minimap will now automatically close during crafting skill mini-games.
- Players can now automatically go to a specific location on the overview map [Tab] with [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [Left Click].
- Players can now add or remove notes, mounts, and companions to quick bar slots with the mouse while holding an item.
- There is now a button that allows players to preview skins from selection chests in their inventory before making a choice.
- Merchant items with purchase limits (daily, weekly, per squad, etc.) are now moved to the end of the shop interface when the available quantity is exhausted.
- Improved controller support:
- Players can now use smart pings with a controller to communicate their location to group members.
- In the training ground, you can now start/end the dual display using RT+RB+B on the controller.

Changes include updates to some Skill Runes, the damage reduction effect, and tuning for many of the Advanced Classes to balance their impact and further define their battlefield roles.
Damage Reduction Effect Updates
Smilegate RPG Developer note: “Skills that reduced damage for the player or group were too efficient in PvP, resulting in potentially boring combat due to oversimplification of skill usage and strategy. To address this, we put a limit on party damage reduction buff during PvP.”
All damage reduction skill effects received by party members in PvP areas have been changed to only apply 65.0% damage reduction. The following skills have changed to reflect this.

- Cooldown reduced from 30 seconds to 24 seconds.
- Damage from PvE and PvP decreased by 15.95%.
- MP consumption reduced by 11.4%.
- Quick Prep tripod changed to Amplified Damage, which cannot be leveled up. On hit, foes will take +6.0% damage from player and party members for 16s.
- Scream of Fury tripod changed from increasing damage for all party members with accuracy, to only increasing damage from the player who applied Fear.
- Scream of Fury tripod can be progressed to level 5.
- Ruining Rush
- Enemies that were hit with accuracy will now take 6% more damage for 6 seconds.
- Death Claw
- Removed the front attack type.
- Enemies that were hit with accuracy will now take 6% more damage for 6 seconds.
Important Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue preventing entry into Secret Dungeons if the map was stored in the Pet Inventory.
- Fixed an issue causing uncraftable Feasts and BBQs to display in the Chef’s Kitchen within the Stronghold.
- Fixed an issue causing most events saved in the calendar to be removed after closing and reopening the menu.
- Fixed an issue causing the “Attachment” and “Delete” selection buttons to not function within the mailbox.
