Lost Ark: Berserker Guide – The Best Builds

A great sword and endless damage. If you want to play the classic warrior, choose the Berserker in Lost Ark . MeinMMO author Anny Bader has taken a closer look at it and explains what matters.

The Berserker is a subclass of the warrior and wields a gigantic two-handed sword through the world of Lost Ark. His opponents suffer a lot of damage, and the Berserker certainly does not lack AoE attacks.

He is a pure DPS class and can take the least damage compared to the other warrior subclasses. However, the Berserker deals the most damage.

On the Tier List from MeinMMO, the Berserker is in the S range for PvE and is under A for PvP. He is useful for both.

This is how the Berserker plays

This is the special ability of the Berserker: With every attack, you accumulate rage, which gradually fills the identity gauge. When it is full, you can press Y to activate Berserker mode. 

In this mode, you deal more damage and have access to the skill Bloodlust, a powerful AoE attack. Additionally, attack and movement speed increase in Berserker mode.

• Finishing Strike: Bring your great sword down on the opponent.
• Aura Blade: Attack distant enemies with a wave of energy.
• Mountain Rage: Stomp the ground and deal damage to enemies in a 4-meter radius.
• Double Strike: Swing your great sword in an X-shape.
• Hell Blade: Ram your sword into the ground. Hold for a total of 6 hits.
• Chain Sword: Diagonal upward strike that throws enemies into the air.
• Powerbreaker: Cause AoE damage and push enemies back. 
• Maelstrom: Ram your sword into the ground, shockwave pulls enemies in.
• Red Dust:  Swing your sword upward. Affected enemies suffer an additional 12% damage for 6 seconds.
• Storm Strike: Move 4 meters toward the opponent, throwing him into the air. Usable multiple times, ends with a downward strike.
• Strike Wave: Split the ground in front of you. Hold to deal more damage.
• Shoulder Charge: Attack and rush 7 meters in your line of sight.
• Blade Storm: Cause a storm of swords while spinning.
• Heavy Crimes: Strike enemies into the air, then slam them down.
• Storm Blade: Diagonal strike.
• Drop Kick Strike: Jump 8 meters and strike enemies into the air. 
• Wind Blade: Swing your sword and rush through enemies. 
• Whirlwind: Spin around and deal damage.
• Bloodlust: AoE attack that can only be used in Berserker mode. 
• The awakenings, or ultimate skills, of the Berserker are Chain of Vengeance and Berserker’s Wrath. You obtain them at level 50 in North Vern.

The Berserker in the Level Process

How should I allocate my first skill points? When allocating points, it is important that you never need to raise the skill levels above level 10. Skill Level 4 is needed for the first tripod, Skill Level 8 for the second, and Skill Level 10 for the third.

To level up as effectively as possible, you can allocate your points as follows: 

• Level 12: Initially put 4 points each into Shoulder Charge and Finishing Strike.
• Up to level 20: A total of 48 points into Finishing Strike.
• Up to level 25: Now add 20 points into Whirlwind.
• Up to level 31: A total of 48 points into Whirlwind and additionally 4 points into Storm Strike for more AoE damage.
• Up to level 35: 4 points into Drop Kick Strike and 20 points into Hell Blade.
• Up to level 44: Distribute 48 points into Red Dust.
• Up to level 48: Further points into Hell Blade until you reach Skill Level 10.
• Up to level 50: The remaining points go into Strike Wave.

By the way, you can reset skill points anytime and for free if you don’t like a certain playstyle. 

The best Berserker builds in the endgame

As with all classes in Lost Ark, when you reach level 50, you can choose a class engraving and thus a playstyle for the Berserker. There are the engravings Berserker’s Technique and Mayhem.

Class Engraving A: Berserker’s Technique

What does the engraving do? The first of the two possible class engravings focuses on critical damage. At level 3, the engraving increases this damage by 50%. Additionally, your critical rate increases. 

The cooldown for filling your identity ability no longer exists. 

For stats, you should focus on specialization and critical, with specialization being the more important of the two. The more specialization your character has, the faster the gauge for his identity ability fills up.

What engravings do I use? As a class engraving, you have already chosen Berserker’s Technique. In addition, you choose the normal combat engravings. Here, first level up Master of Ambush to level three. For other engravings, choose from Awakening, Spirit Absorption, Overlord, Reckless Weapon and Supercharge.

As an awakening, you choose Chain of Vengeance in this build.

What does the rotation look like? At the beginning of your rotation, it is important to use the attack Red Dust, as it causes your opponent to suffer more damage for a few seconds. 

To quickly switch into Berserker mode, spam Wind Blade, Strike Wave, and Mountain Rage. Shoulder Charge and Hell Blade serve as fillers until the other attacks are recharged.

Which collectible cards are important? In Lost Ark, you often receive collectible cards that you can integrate into your character’s card deck. Certain cards in combination yield helpful bonuses; the more cards, the more useful they become. A deck consists of at least 2 and a maximum of 6 cards.

To maximize DPS from your Berserker, the card set Light of Redemption is optimal. It consists of Shandi, Azena, Innana, Nineveh, Wei, Balthorr, and Thirain. Unfortunately, the set is quite expensive.

Alternatively, you can initially go for the deck Howling Rocks. It consists of the cards Armel, King Thirain, Seria, Kharmine, and Delain Armel. Howling Rocks gives your Berserker a crit boost.

Class Engraving B: Mayhem

What does the engraving do? With the second variant of the Berserker, you choose Mayhem as the class engraving. You have a permanently full rage gauge and can switch to Berserker mode anytime. There is no cooldown.

In this mode, your HP is at 25%, but you also take 65% less damage. Additionally, your character benefits from 18% more damage and 15% more movement speed. 

For stats, you focus on crit and agility.

Which engravings do I use? In addition to your class engraving Mayhem, you also select your combat engravings. Level up Champion’s Persistence to level three. This engraving gives you 16% more attack power when you are below 50% HP. Since this is the case all the time, this engraving is immensely strong for the Berserker with Mayhem. 

After that, focus on Cursed Doll, Reckless Weapon, Overlord, and Master of Ambush.

What skills do I use?

As an awakening, you choose Berserker’s Wrath in this build.

What does the rotation look like? Here too, your rotation begins with Red Dust to inflict more damage on the opponent with the following attacks. For the most DPS, follow with Finishing Strike, Blade Storm, and Hell Blade. Then start over with Red Dust.

To counter boss attacks, use Chain Sword here as well.

Which collectible cards are important? The card set with class engraving Mayhem is also effectively Howling Rocks, but Light of Redemption is optimal as mentioned above.
