Lost Ark has announced a new update for this week, expected to be released on Thursday. The focus is on the Guardian Raids and Abyss Dungeons of Tier 1 and Tier 2, which are set to be toned down.
What does Amazon plan for the patch? According to Community Manager Roxx, the difficulties of the endgame content are currently a hot topic of discussion. There are indeed several posts in the forum complaining about the difficulty of the dungeons and raids.
Therefore, Amazon is planning to tone down Tier 1 content (up to Gearscore 600) and Tier 2 content (up to Gearscore 1,100) to make it easier.
When will the patch be released? The update is supposed to be applied during the “weekly maintenance”. This has always taken place on Thursday. Therefore, the update is expected to be released on March 3.
Nerf of 6 Raids and 4 Dungeons Planned
Which contents are being nerfed? The following Guardian Raids will be affected:
- Vertus
- Nacrasena
- Flame Fox Yoho
- Tytalos
- Achates
- Alberhastic
Additionally, the 4 Abyss Dungeons will also be toned down:
- Necromancer’s Origin
- Hall of the twisted Warlord
- Hilderbrandt Palace
- Sea of Indolence
However, there are still no concrete patch notes about what changes will be made.
What else does the patch bring? The weekly update is expected to bring further changes, although these have not yet been announced. For new content, it is still too early.
New content patches are expected to be released about every two months, so you can expect new content in early April.
Health Points Down, but Mechanics Should Stay
How are the planned changes received? Whenever the difficulty of content is changed, it is controversially discussed. Many players who have already completed the content before the nerf don’t want others to have it easier.
However, almost all players agree: The health points of the bosses could be reduced. The sometimes very challenging mechanics should remain, at least according to some users on the forum and reddit:
- FreakoFreako writes: ‘Abyss doesn’t need a nerf. The mechanic/difficulty is my favorite aspect of the game. And after playing it a few times, it becomes easy because you get used to it. But I would love a HP nerf for the Guardian Raids. Not the damage/mechanic, just the damn HP nerf. It’s not hard, it’s just boring and you have to do it twice a day with each character.’
- The same sentiment is echoed by the user Graveylock: ‘Guardian HP nerf is perfectly fine, but players need to stop being too bad for Abyss Dungeons.’
However, some players are also concerned that the nerf could negatively impact T3 content. As players will have it easier in the old dungeons, they might be overwhelmed by new mechanics.
Vinnie1135 sees the problem less in the difficulty than in the attitude of the players:
People who go in with minimal gear level and ignore all mechanics and treat it like a leveling dungeon boss. And then they wonder why they get rolled over. They could literally do any other T1 content/islands and be overqualified for this content within a week.
What do you think about the nerf to the Guardian Raids and Abyss Dungeons? Is it really necessary or should players pull themselves together and farm gear if necessary?
