In March, Lost Ark will receive its first update with new content in the West. This includes story content about the character Kadan and the Abyss Raid “Argos”. We at MeinMMO reveal what is included in the new patch.
What does the new update bring? The focus is on two major new features:
- New story content on the islands Isteri and Illusion Bamboo Island
- The new Abyss Raid Argos
Additionally, further innovations, balance changes, and bug fixes are planned, which will be explained in more detail in further blog posts and forum contributions.
When will the update be released? So far, it is only known that the patch will be released in March. There is no exact release date.
This week, the update will not be released yet. A regular weekly update is planned for Thursday, which is supposed to bring some nerfs for T1 and T2 instances.
New story aimed at players with Gearscore 1,100
What kind of story is this? The new story revolves around the character Kadan, the first Guardian Slayer. In doing so, you are also supposed to find the last Ark to stand against evil.
The story leads to the islands Isteri and Illusion Bamboo. However, to enter these, you must complete the story quests “Let There Be Light”, “The Beginning of Our Story”, and “Illusion Bamboo Island – End of the Trials”.
Additionally, the developers recommend a Gearscore of 1,100 for the content.
Abyss Raid is supposed to be new and much harder
What kind of raid is this? Previously, there were Abyss Dungeons and Guardian Raids in Lost Ark. Now, the first Abyss Raid is coming, which according to the official blog post is supposed to be much harder than the Guardian Raids. They also describe it as a “completely new endgame activity”.
You will fight against a boss as before, having only a limited time and a limited number of respawns. Players must go through three phases and encounter different mechanics and attack patterns.
Each phase already has its own reward and can be completed once a week. The developers did not reveal which Gearscore is exactly required.
Next Abyss Raid is likely coming in April, possibly with the next class
What’s next for Lost Ark? The next raid is scheduled for April. It is named Valtan.
Additionally, the developers already revealed that a new class should come to us every 2-3 months. In Korea, there are currently 22, while we currently only have access to 15.
Moreover, an official roadmap for new content is expected to be released in the “next months”.
