The reason behind this is quite simple, as players want to unlock a hidden achievement. The achievement is called People Person – in German “Lieblingsmensch”. We will show you here what you need to know about it.

Achievement unlocks 1,000 Amethyst Shards for you
How do you unlock the achievement? All you have to do is get 50 friends in Lost Ark. You can send friend requests to people in the regional chats where they write “Add me”. Alternatively, you can also comment on this article with your server and character name and add other readers from MeinMMO.
With this, you should quickly reach the threshold of 50 friends and unlock the achievement.
What does the achievement bring exactly? You will receive 1,000 Amethyst Shards and 520 Squad Experience Points. The shards will be placed directly into your universal storage upon achieving the accomplishment.
Why is this so special? The Amethyst Shards are a coveted currency in Lost Ark. Currently, you can only obtain them through Twitch Prime or by completing achievements. The achievements that reward you with them are (via lostarkcodex.com):
