In the fantasy MMORPG Lord of the Rings Online, patch 16.2 is currently on the test server. This is supposed to fulfill some of the biggest fan wishes this summer.
Lord of the Rings Online sometimes feels like a game from another era. And so some hardcore fans are rubbing their eyes in disbelief about the patch that is currently active on the test server Bullroarer: “What? After all these years, I can finally use the staff of Keria?” one asks in the forum after reading that “cosmetic weapons” are coming to Lord of the Rings Online.
Also in the patch: A new second player-versus-monster map in Osiligiath (a huge development) and with the “Adventures of Bingo Boffin” a kind of episodic content that some compare to the Living Story in Guild Wars 2.
At the moment, however, there are still some complaints about the version on the test server. But well, that’s what test servers are for. Update 16.2 is expected this summer.
Update 17 is supposed to be released in the fall, but it’s still too early to know what’s in it, according to the producer.
