As soon as Update 14 for Lord of the Rings Online was released, the guys from Turbine are already teasing the next menu item on Tolkien’s epic menu. But there is also a dampener: There will be no separate starting zone for the new class, the Beorning.
Since they are skipping the second level cap increase (with Update 14 it first jumped to 100), there is now more time for other things.
However, the Beornings, the new class that is to be introduced later, will have to settle for a new intro. There simply wasn’t enough time for a completely new starting zone. By the way, those who want to play a Beorning will have to reach into their pockets. The new class aims to be funded with Turbine Points – just like it was with the Runekeeper and the Warden, the last two introduced classes, long ago. The time saved by foregoing the level increase will go into the new system for Legendary Weapons.
Before Update 15 begins, a smaller patch will be introduced, leading players into the Deathswamps. With Update 15, a new zone will come. For the heroes, it will then go to Pelagrir, against the Haradrim, nasty corsairs, and their allies, a gang of ruthless half-trolls. In an epic assault battle, players will try to retake the city of Pelagrir alongside Aragorn.
