Yesterday, the news came that the team that had been making Lord of the Rings Online for years is now leaving Turbine and continuing as Standing Stone Studio. This seems to have loosened some blockades. So now they are openly considering revising the character models of LOTRO. This might come with the Mordor expansion.
A New Look for Lord of the Rings?
According to the forum, such changes to the “avatars” are a sensitive matter. Even though a “revamp” may be well received, there are always some who prefer the old look. Therefore, they want to give players of “Lord of the Rings Online” the choice between new and old models.
One of the main priorities of the team’s new work is, by the way, to reduce lag. It also sounds like they want to strengthen the raiding community of Lord of the Rings Online again. The first raid that was introduced after three years without a new raid was well received. For Mordor, they are planning another one, with details still being worked out for the entire expansion.
Currently, amidst all this chaos, Patch 19.2 has been released for Lord of the Rings Online, bringing 17 new quests.
