In League of Legends , Twitch streamer Tyler “Tyler1” Steinkamp has reached his peak. Even Riot Games bows down to the streamer, using him as the official profile picture for the Twitter channel followed by 5 million people. Tyler1 had a long tumultuous relationship with Riot Games, having been banned for years, with an employee even saying he would soon die of “testicular cancer.”
This is how Riot Games now honors Tyler1: The LoL developers have included him in the official Twitter profile picture, where the streamer is seen alongside the mid-lane champion Annie.
Congratulations were given for “having put him back on the list” and an apology was made for “not having managed Twitch.”
“I am the face of LoL!” – Change it or I’ll stop
How did Riot Games come to change the image? Tyler1 demanded it.
Tyler1 said he is “the face of LoL,” so he urged Riot Games to change the LoL image on Twitch for a day, or he would “stop.”
Riot Games seemed to have complied and at least changed the picture on Twitter.
Tyler1 calls it his “clear demand”:
It all seems to be meant jokingly and fits the image of the character “Tyler1”, who is over the top in everything.
Tyler1 becomes Challenger in LoL in 4 out of 5 roles
Why is Tyler1 honored? The muscular 26-year-old is the biggest streamer for LoL on Twitch. He is quite the angler, frequently losing his temper and generally writing only in “All Caps”, but he is also a gifted entertainer and a beast in LoL.
For years, Tyler1 was known for playing a single champion, Draven. But that has radically changed: Tyler1 has now set his goal to climb to the Challenger rank in every position in LoL. It is exceptionally tough, as only a few players per server reach this rank.
After 669 games, Tyler has now become Challenger in the Midlane. Previously, he had already achieved this as a Botlaner, Jungler, and Top-Laner. He required 1800 games back then for Top Lane.
For the notoriously bad loser and ambitious Tyler1, this is a great ordeal each time. However, he simply does not give up.
The “Midlane Challenge” began in July and has finally come to an end. Compared to other roles, it seems he found it relatively easy to reach Challenger rank as a Midlaner.
The hardest task for Tyler1 is evidently the run as a “Supporter”, which he plans to tackle only in 2022.
Tyler1 celebrates his rise (warning, loud):
Only after a LoL employee predicted “testicular cancer” for him, was Tyler1 allowed to play again
What makes Tyler1’s rise so bemerkenswert: The streamer had long been at odds with Riot Games. Due to his outrageous behavior and repeatedly flaming others, his name was on the “We really don’t want him” list at Riot Games for a long time. Tyler1 was banned from the game repeatedly.
However, a 2017 incident occurred: A LoL designer spoke, seemingly drunk, about Tyler1 and said: “It’s okay, he will die from a cocaine overdose or testicular cancer from all the steroids… after that, we are gucci.”
Following this statement, the employee seemingly had to leave Riot Games, and at the same time, Riot Games tolerated “Tyler1” back on the LoL servers. He put on a T-shirt reading “Reformed”, claimed to have completely changed, now being tame, and continued pretty much as before.
4 years later, Tyler1 is the star of LoL and seemingly “suitable for the public.”
Twitch ruffian laughs because LoL can’t ban him: “They need me”
