Anyone who wants to be successful in League of Legends: Wild Rift must master their champion. However, there are some champions that can be hindrances to a successful career. We at MeinMMO reveal which champs you should rather avoid.
What criteria were used for the selection? The champions in Wild Rift vary in strength, which is why we created a tier list that shows you the strongest champions.
But besides strength, there are two other factors that influenced this selection:
- How well does the control work on smartphones?
- How difficult is it to play the champion?
Based on these three criteria, we created a list of five champions that you better not play if you want to win. Often there is a stronger alternative that is even easier and more effective to play.
1. Aurelion Sol
What makes the champion special? Aurelion Sol is visually one of the best characters in League of Legends. Not only does his space theme look cool, but he also makes a strong impression with his skills.
Aurelion Sol can be played as a midlaner and supporter because he deals high damage, especially in the early game.
Why should you rather not play him? Aurelion Sol scales poorly in the late game, making him one of the weakest midlaners overall. In our tier list, he is placed alone in the C-Tier.
As a supporter, he does provide some crowd control, but significantly falls off compared to other characters starting at level 6. His ultimate has much less impact on the game than, for example, Braum or Janna.
Overall, Aurelion Sol is a rather poor choice in both positions.
2. Vayne
What makes the champion special? Vayne is currently one of the strongest ADCs in Wild Rift. She deals a lot of damage and is already often used for entertaining 1v5 montages.
She has abilities like a small dodge roll, can knock back enemies, and make herself invisible with her ultimate. Basically everything a good ADC needs.
Why should you rather not play her? Vayne requires precise control from you. And that can be difficult on a smartphone.
Moreover, her damage is only realized over time and with items. Until then, she may have already lost her lane. Other ADCs often have stronger abilities and greater ranges, making the laning phase challenging.
If you master Vayne well, you can be really strong with her. However, if you are not so experienced, it is better to avoid her for champions like Jhin, Kai’Sa, or Ezreal.
3. Yasuo
What makes the champion special? Yasuo is an assassin with high damage potential. He is quite mobile and can block enemy projectiles with his wind wall.
Yasuo is one of the most popular champions in the game, and in the mid lane, he reaches a solid A-Tier.
Why should you not play him? With mobile controls, it is difficult to utilize Yasuo’s full damage potential. You can only afford a few imprecise moments. Mastering him is extremely challenging.
Furthermore, Yasuo has trouble with champions like Fiora, Camille, and Zed. And all of these characters are currently very popular and strong.
4. Ziggs
What makes the champion special? Ziggs is a Yordle who values bombs and explosions highly. Each of his abilities is a skillshot.
The champion is particularly strong when it comes to “sieging,” i.e., destroying towers. However, that is quite difficult in Wild Rift.
Why should you not play him? Matches in Wild Rift are much more hectic and chaotic than in LoL itself. Ganks in the early game and team fights in the mid game happen frequently. Ziggs does not feel very comfortable in those situations.
Moreover, it is extremely hard to hit skillshots with him. Most abilities will simply be dodged by your enemies. He himself is quite immobile, which makes him an easy target for assassins.
5. Vi
What makes the champion special? Vi is particularly strong when it comes to taking out the enemy carry. With her ultimate, she can grab him, lift him into the air, and then slam him down.
Why should you not play her? Aside from the fact that she can effectively take out a champion, she surprisingly provides very little for the team.
She is quite slow in the jungle and her ganks are not particularly strong. Furthermore, she does not scale well into the late game. Overall, Vi also ends up in the C-Tier of junglers.
