With patch 12.14, an item in League of Legends is being adjusted that was last changed in 2015. The healing potion will now regenerate fewer health points. This aligns with the current strategy from Riot Games, which aims to weaken healing and shields.
What changes are being made to the healing potion? The healing potion currently costs 50 Gold and restores a total of 150 health over 15 seconds when used. The upcoming patch 12.14 has already been deployed on the test server. There, the healing potion is significantly weaker:
- The normal healing potion now restores only 120 instead of 150 health.
- The Corrupting and Refillable healing potions now restore only 100 instead of 120 health.
A nerf that fits perfectly into the new strategy. Already with patch 12.10, more than 30 items were weakened that also provided healing or shields.
When was the healing potion last adjusted?
- The last update was in November 2015. The Gold cost was increased from 35 to 50.
- Previously, it was adjusted in November 2011. At that time, the healing was reduced from 200 to 150. However, the duration of the potion was also adjusted from 20 to 15 seconds.
- Otherwise, in November 2020, the icon was adjusted, which did not represent a game-relevant change.
At the beginning of 2023, several titles from Riot Games are expected to come to Xbox Game Pass. For LoL players, all champions will be unlocked:
Buffs for the buffs of the dragons
What else is in patch 12.14? The new patch 12.14 will include additional “Star Guardian” skins and will be the last patch related to the event. There will also be a significant focus on adjustments to the dragons:
- The buff from the Mountain Drake now provides 9% instead of 6% armor and magic resistance.
- The buff from the Ocean Drake now provides 3% instead of 2% missing health regeneration.
- The buff from the Infernal Drake now provides 6% instead of 4% more AD/AP.
- The buff from the Cloud Drake now provides 7% instead of 3.5% slow resistance and movement speed out of combat.
- The buff from the Hextech Drake now provides 9% and 9 instead of 6% and 6 attack speed and ability haste.
- The buff from the Cloud Soul now provides 15% instead of 10% additional speed.
Additionally, the health of the dragons will be significantly increased and the damage adjusted:
- All dragons will now have 3,450 + 380 per level instead of 2,650 + 240 per level.
- After the transformation of the map, they will also have 6,950 + 380 health per level instead of 4,350 + 240 per level.
- The Cloud Drake will be the only one to gain damage – Mountain, Ocean, Hextech, and Infernal Drake will lose damage.
The Elder Drake has a similar situation. This one also gains more health but loses attack damage.
On the other hand, the Herald now gives more gold, and the second Herald gets 75% more health.
What changes are being made to the summoner spells? There are also two adjustments here:
- Teleport will now have a cooldown of 420 seconds in the normal version instead of 360 seconds. However, the upgraded form will remain unchanged.
- Exhaust, on the other hand, now reduces incoming damage at levels 1-9 by only 30%. Only at level 9 does it remain 40% as before.
What do you think about the planned changes in patch 12.14? Will you continue to rely on the healing potion? Do you think it’s good or bad that the dragons lose damage, but the fights will last longer? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
Just last week, patch 12.13 was released with the new champion Nilah. However, it is causing some issues:
