Riot Games has made changes to the jungle during the preseason of League of Legends. These changes have been in effect for several months. Twitch streamer Tyler1 criticizes the changes and demands that the preseason adjustments be reversed.
What did Tyler1 point out? The Twitch streamer talked about the adjustments for junglers in his stream. After he managed to reach the Challenger rank in the leaderboard on every position for over 2 years, he can discuss the pros and cons of various roles.
Earlier this year, he expressed concern about the strongest jungle champion. But it doesn’t stop there, as he has something to criticize again, now with video evidence. The jungle role has become far too strong and requires drastic changes.
Because anyone can play jungle and sit afk (“away from keyboard”) in a bush for a minute without a disadvantage, or even gaining an advantage.

The jungle exerts too much pressure on all lanes
What happens in the video? Tyler1 analyzes in the stream his behavior and that of both junglers in the game.
First, he talks about revealing the bush on the bot lane on the enemy side so that he won’t be surprised. Then he explains the normal jungle flow on the blue side in the Summoner’s Rift. The player in the video does just that and positions himself in the revealed bush on the bot lane after the golems. There, the player stands still for almost a minute.
We have embedded the video here for you:
Actually, this player should experience a disadvantage in farm, gold, and experience against his opponent in that minute, but the Sylas from the other team does not play it cleanly.
He neither takes all the jungle camps nor considers the 3-vs-3 on the bot lane. These are both points that Tyler1 criticizes in his video.
Just by knowing that the enemy jungler is there, Tyler1 cannot attempt risky tactics to give his lane an advantage. However, due to the potential risk, Tyler1 cannot do anything and ends up at a disadvantage. All this just because his opponent stood in the bush for a minute.
In conclusion, the streamer says that if Riot Games looks at the number of players from the jungle, they would see an increase. That would be because players no longer want to play on the lanes.
Even the German streamer Noway finds the jungle role far too strong. However, he emphasizes that it is not fun in this context, as the direct opponent is missing (via Twitch).
How are the developers responding to this? After Riot Games engaged more in communication with their players and managed to overcome a huge internal crisis, they show the solution to the problems that Tyler1 mentioned. They shared the adjustments for the jungle on Twitter:
RiotPhlox explained on reddit that they have already uploaded further adjustments for Patch 13.5 on the PBE server, but these went live later because the weekend intervened.
The developer also expresses his excitement that Tyler1 is so concerned about the balance in the jungle. Also, the comments under the posts indicate that the jungle camps do not play a significant role in the game.
What do you think about the current jungle role and what do you expect from the adjustments? Let us know in the comments.
The changes for the jungle are not the only ones for Patch 13.5: LoL is finally revising the costs of champions – these are the prices you will have to expect in the future.
