LoL: These are the best items in Season 11 for every position

In League of Legends, the Pre-Season 11 has arrived. With it came various changes, especially to the items. Several new items were introduced, and with the Mythic items, even a completely new category. We from MeinMMO reveal what has changed and which are the best Mythic items for Season 11.

What has changed regarding the items in the Pre-Season? With Patch 10.23, the items in LoL were significantly adjusted:

  • There was a general overhaul of the shop
  • 13 completely new items were introduced
  • 28 old items were adjusted
  • 19 items were removed or changed. Some of them will return as the so-called Mythic items

What are the new Mythic items? These new items are items of which you can only have one at a time. They are particularly powerful, have a passive effect that enhances your other “finished items” and are meant to serve as cornerstones of your build.

What is this guide about? In this guide, we want to tell you which Mythic items are most useful for each position in the game. We will also adjust this to future updates to provide you with the most current list possible.

Especially at the start of the Pre-Season, the changes caused some confusion among players. For those who want to inform themselves generally about the Pre-Season, here is a fitting video:

The best items for the Midlane

The item here depends a bit on which champion type you are playing.

AP damage over time: If you like playing mages with a lot of damage over time, like Malzahar, Cassiopeia, or Azir, you should go for Liandry’s Anguish. With the special effect, you burn your opponents and gain more magic penetration for your later attacks:

  • 80 ability power
  • 600 mana
  • 20 ability haste
  • Unique – BURN: When you deal damage to enemies with abilities, they burn and take 15 damage (+2.5% ability power) per second for 4 seconds, as well as magic damage equal to 1% of their maximum health. You gain 5% magic penetration per second against burning targets (up to 25%).
  • MYTHIC: Grants all other legendary items 5 ability haste.
  • The item costs 3,400 gold

AP burst damage: If you instead rely on mages that deal a lot of burst damage, such as LeBlanc, Zoe, or Syndra, you should take a closer look at Luden’s Tempest. The item generally provides more magic penetration and causes additional AoE damage when you cast abilities:

  • 80 ability power
  • 10 magic penetration
  • 600 mana
  • 10 ability haste
  • Unique – ECHO: Damage-dealing abilities deal an additional 100 (+15% ability power) magic damage to the target and 3 nearby enemies, and grant you 30% movement speed for 2 seconds (10 seconds cooldown).
  • MYTHIC: Grants all other legendary items 5 magic penetration.
  • The item costs 3,400 gold
LeBlanc-LoL
LeBlanc is the epitome of a burst damage mage in LoL.

AP melee fighters: Fans of AP melee fighters, like Sylas or Ekko, should use the Hextech Rocketbelt instead. Here you gain extra health and have an ability with which you can jump to enemies:

  • 80 ability power
  • 250 health
  • 15 ability haste
  • Unique – HYPERSONIC (ACTIVE): Jump in the target direction and fire magical projectiles in an arc that deal 200–300 (level 1–18) (+15% ability power) magic damage. You then gain 75% movement speed for 2 seconds when moving towards enemy champions (40 seconds cooldown).
  • MYTHIC: Grants all legendary items 5 magic penetration.
  • The item costs 3,200 gold

AD in the middle: If you’re building an AD character like Talon, Zed, or Jayce in the Midlane, you should look at Eclipse. Here you get particularly high damage and gain movement speed:

  • 55 attack damage
  • 18 lethality
  • 10% omnivamp (magic and AD)
  • Unique – EVER-RISING MOON: If you hit a champion within 1.5 seconds with 2 individual normal attacks or abilities, they take additional normal damage equal to 8% of their maximum health and you gain 30% movement speed and a shield equal to 150 ([+40% of bonus attack damage] for melee champions) or 100 ([+30% of bonus attack damage] for ranged champions) for 2 seconds (6 second cooldown for melee champions, 12 second cooldown for ranged champions).
  • MYTHIC: Grants all other legendary items 4% armor penetration.
  • The item costs 3,200 gold

An alternative for assassins in the middle is also the Duskblade of Draktharr, which we will introduce again in the Jungle items.

The best items for Junglers

For Junglers, much also depends on the playstyle. Four items have stood out in the meta so far.

Jungle Tanks: In the Pre-Season, tank junglers like Sejuani, Zac, or Jarvan IV are making a return to the meta. One reason for this is the Mythic item Sunfire Aegis, which causes burning around them. This affects both enemy players and neutral minions in the jungle:

  • 450 health
  • 30 armor
  • 30 magic resistance
  • 15 ability haste
  • Unique – BURN: Deal 20–40 (level 1–18) (+1% bonus health) magic damage per second to nearby enemies (damage against minions is increased by 50% and against monsters by 200%). If an enemy champion or epic monster takes damage from this effect, the subsequent burning damage increases by 12% for 5 seconds (max 6 stacks).
  • Unique – FLAMING TOUCH: At maximum stacks of “Burn”, your normal attacks burn nearby enemies. The burning deals damage per second for 3 seconds.
  • MYTHIC: Grants all legendary items 5 ability haste.
  • The item costs 3,200 gold.
Lol Sejuani
Sejuani is a strong tank and enjoys great popularity in Pre-Season 11.

Lane Ganker: If you actively attack lanes and are looking for kills, the new item Duskblade of Draktharr may make you happy. It is especially suited for champions like Shaco, Rengar, or Kha’Zix, as enemies are slowed by attacks:

  • 55 attack damage
  • 18 lethality
  • 20 ability haste
  • Unique – NIGHTWALKER: Attacks against a champion deal an additional 100 normal damage (+30% bonus attack damage) and slow them by 99% for 0.25 seconds (15 seconds cooldown). If a champion you damaged within the last 3 seconds dies, this cooldown is reset and you become invisible for 1.5 seconds.
  • MYTHIC: Grants all legendary items 5 ability haste.
  • The item costs 3,200 gold

AP Jungler: Although they are currently a bit weaker than tanks, AP junglers like Elise, Nidalee, or Evelynn are still very popular. The item Night Harvester is best suited for them:

  • 80 ability power
  • 250 health
  • 15 ability haste
  • Unique – SOULREAPER: When you deal damage to a champion, they take an additional 175–250 (level 1–18) (+15% ability power) magic damage, and you gain 25% movement speed for 1.5 seconds (60 seconds cooldown per enemy).
  • MYTHIC: Grants all legendary items 5 ability haste.
  • The item costs 3,200 gold

Ability Users: For certain champions like Hecarim, Vi, and Xin Zhao, the strength of Trinity has always been the best item. This remains true even after the rework:

  • 200 health
  • 35 attack damage
  • 35% attack speed
  • 10 ability haste
  • Unique – TRIPLE STRIKE: Normal attacks grant you 25 movement speed for 3 seconds. If the target is a champion, your base attack damage is increased by 6%. Can be stacked up to 5 times (max 30%).
  • Unique – SPELLSWORDS: After casting an ability, your next normal attack is empowered and deals an additional 200% base attack damage (1.5 seconds cooldown).
  • MYTHIC: Grants all legendary items 10% attack speed.
  • The item costs 3,333 gold.
Hecarim is one of the champions that always rely on the strength of Trinity.

The best items for the Top Lane

In the Top Lane, two items are well-suited, depending on the champion type you play.

Tanks: In the Top Lane, tanks like Volibear, Ornn, or Malphite can be played wonderfully. They all benefit from Sunfire Aegis and the additional damage around them:

Ability Users: For certain champions like Fiora, Darius, and also Garen, the strength of Trinity is the best item here.

AP Top Lane: Currently, AP Top Laners like Lulu or Galio are rather rare. For Lulu, the strength of Trinity is also recommended, for Galio, the Hextech Rocketbelt.

The best items for AD Carries

Classic AD Carries: The new item “Shieldbow of Immortality” has proven to be particularly strong for classic AD carries:

  • +50 attack damage
  • +15% attack speed
  • +20% critical strike chance
  • +12% lifesteal
  • Unique – RESCUE ANCHOR: When you take damage that would drop your health below 30%, you gain a shield for 3 seconds equal to 250–700 health (levels ≤ 10–18). You also receive 15% lifesteal for 8 seconds (90 seconds cooldown).
  • MYTHIC: Grants all other legendary items 5 attack damage and 50 health.
  • The item costs 3,400 gold in total

The Shieldbow of Immortality is ideal for characters that like to attack from a distance but want to withstand the attack of an assassin from behind. It is particularly suited when you want to play aggressively.

LoL Ashe Titel Krits
Ashe is an immobile champion but can benefit from both items.

Immobile Champions: If you play an AD Carry with very little mobility, such as Jinx, Miss Fortune, or Xayah, you should look at Gale Force:

  • +55 attack damage
  • +20% attack speed
  • +20% critical strike chance
  • Unique: GALE FORCE (ACTIVE): Jump in the target direction and fire three projectiles at the enemy with the lowest health near your target location (prioritizes champions). Deals a total of 180–315 (level ≤ 10–18) (+45% additional attack damage) magic damage. The damage increases against low-health targets by up to 50% (90 seconds cooldown).
  • MYTHIC: Grants all other legendary items 3% movement speed.
  • The item costs a total of 3,400 gold

The best items for Supporters

Supporters in League of Legends can again take on various roles in Season 11. These include tanks, healers, or even aggressive supporters who want to deal damage as well.

Tank Support: If you like standing in the frontline with champions like Leona, Braum, Tahm Kench, or Nautilus, you should get the Amulet of the Iron Solar. This provides a lot of defensive capabilities while also protecting your teammates:

  • 200 health
  • 20 ability haste
  • 30 armor
  • 30 magic resistance
  • Unique – DEVOTION (ACTIVE): Grant nearby allies a shield equal to 250–420 (ally level 1–18) that degrades over 2.5 seconds (90 seconds cooldown).
  • Unique – CONSECRATION: Grants nearby allied champions 5 armor and magic resistance.
  • MYTHIC: Grants all legendary items an additional 2 armor and magic resistance for “Consecration”.
  • The item costs 2,700 gold.

Healer: The dream for all Sona and Soraka players is the Moonstone Renewed. It allows you to attack enemies while simultaneously healing allies. It also provides a lot of additional mana:

  • 40 ability power
  • 200 health
  • 20 ability haste
  • +100% mana regeneration
  • Unique – GRACE OF STARDUST: When you hit champions in battle with normal attacks or abilities, you heal the most wounded nearby ally for 30–60 health (ally level 1–18, 2 seconds cooldown). With each second you are in combat with champions, this healing effect increases by 37.5% (max. +150%).
  • MYTHIC: Grants all legendary items 5 ability haste.
  • The item costs 2,700 gold.

AP Supporter: If you play an aggressive supporter who needs ability damage and mana, you should use the item Imperial Mandate. It provides exactly what characters like Nami, Yuumi, or Seraphine need:

  • 40 ability power
  • 200 health
  • 20 ability haste
  • 100% mana regeneration
  • Unique – MARK OF HOSTILITY: Abilities that slow or immobilize a champion deal an additional 60–100 magic damage (level 1–18) and mark them for 4 seconds. Damage from an allied champion will trigger the mark to explode, dealing 60–100 additional magic damage (ally level 1–18). You and your ally will then gain 20% movement speed for 2 seconds (6 seconds cooldown per enemy).
  • MYTHIC: Grants all other legendary items 15 ability power.
  • The item costs 2,700 gold.

Seraphine fits well with this item and is a good support, but still unpopular with many players. We will show you why this is and how great the frustration really is here:
