Among the strengths of League of Legends are the many regular updates. Players constantly have to adapt to the new circumstances. This can even change the lane on which a champion is played. Perhaps this will also be the case in the latest patch.
Which patch is it about? Tomorrow, on April 3rd, the new patch 14.7 will be released. The highlights include:
- Rework of Skarner
- Buffs and nerfs for champions, especially junglers
- New set of skins with the theme “April Fools”
Here you can learn 7 exciting facts about LoL:
The Berserker of the Jungle
One of the oldest champions in LoL is Olaf, the berserker. He not only has quite a bit of health but also a powerful ultimate. This puts him into a rage mode that gives him movement speed and immunity to crowd control effects.
Starting as a jungler, Olaf has developed over the years into a feared top laner. However, it seems that developer Riot Games wants to see Olaf back in his original role.
League content creator Spideraxe reports (via X) about the following changes to Olaf that have already been tested in the PBE (Public Beta Environment) for the upcoming patch:
- Pull (Q): adds 5-25 bonus damage to monsters
- Clamp Down (W): buff on attack speed increases from 4 to 5 seconds; mana costs increase from 30 to 50
- Reckless Swing (E): cooldown refund increases to 2 seconds against monsters
- Ragnarok (R): additional attack damage increases from 10-30 to 15-25; movement speed increases from 20%-70% to 30%-70%; now costs 100 mana
Especially the increased mana costs show that Riot wants to ban Olaf from his current position. Because mana is already a major problem for Olaf in the top lane, even though he still dominates there. The increased damage to monsters will also ensure a better jungle clear.
Are you looking forward to the changes? Or would you prefer to continue playing Olaf in the top lane? Feel free to let us know in the comments.
