In League of Legends there are new clues about a new monster champion that is expected to be released in mid-2023. A well-known leaker has summarized the information in a video.
What is officially known about the next champions? After K’Sante has been released, the next two champions for LoL are set:
- A new “Ixtal” enchanter, meaning a new supporter – this will be the first new champ of 2023. From Ixtal come nature-connected heroes like Neeko, Nidalee, Rengar, or Zyra.
- A “Darkin” assassin, who will be a new midlaner. He is a Darkin; there are only a few champions from this race in LoL. The last was Aatrox, the top laner who came in June 2013. This champion is expected to be the new “monster champion” in 2023.

What is known about the new champ? The leaker “Big Bad Bear” has compiled information about the new champion in a video. It is said:
- The champ is expected to be released at the end of Q2, beginning of Q3 – that would be between June and August 2023
- The champion is said to take the form of a demonic dog or wolf, with some kind of dagger embedded in its forehead. The inspiration is thought to be from Monster Hunter
- The character is female
Big Bad Bear says he has commissioned some images of what the Darkin could look like, based on the leaks. However, these are not leaks; they are images based on the leaks.
How will the hero be played? The champion is expected to be played as an assassin in the midlane. Originally, the champ was planned as “AD,” but also has scaling with AP like the hero Varus.
The leaker says he is “very unsure,” but it could be that the hero also has:
- A skill like an “execute,” which could be stronger the fewer hit points the opponent has
- And a skill that ignores resistances
