Developer RiotGames is getting generous and is offering players of League of Legends (LoL) up to 450% more IP!
Influence Points (IP) are a digital currency in LoL. With these points, you can buy champions or runes, for example. On Wednesday, January 20, 2016, the new season in LoL started, where the new champion selection was inaugurated at the same time. To demonstrate this new champion selection to as many players as possible, Riot is now inviting everyone to use it to earn significantly more IP. The event runs from January 20, 2016 to January 24, 2016 (11:59 PM). However, not on the EU West server.

You can get up to 450% more IP when you queue up with 4 friends in one of the new champion selection queues and participate in a game. But even if you’re like Amumu and don’t have many friends, it is still worth queuing up with just one friend in a new ranked match to earn more than double the points for it. If you’re still looking for more people to join this event, there’s a “Find a Friend” mega thread on Reddit that is being actively commented on. Here’s the link to the thread on Reddit.
If you play diligently, you might soon have as many influence points as our friend Karl here. Then you just have to hope that you can soon use these points in the new Hextech Crafting to earn skins or champions, for example.
Issues with the new champion selection on the EU servers
Currently (January 20, 2016) there are still issues with the new champion selection on the EU West servers, which is why the selection has been disabled. For this reason, there have been various inquiries to RiotGames asking whether the bonus IP event will be postponed on these servers. Riot confirmed this and stated that they will hold back the event until the champion selection is stable on the EU West servers and that players will then have the same amount of time to earn the additional influence points as players on the North American servers.
Update: January 27, 2016 – The bonus IP is now live
The issues seem to be resolved, and the IP event has now arrived on the EU West servers. If you still need people for your groups, you can join the chat rooms “redditlfg & aramlfg” in the game.
