LoL: The great Faker suffered an internet outage in the middle of the match – His teammates let him be banned

As Twitter user Caedral shows, Faker was banned for a normal game during the Worlds 2023, because he suddenly was AFK in a match.

Big Internet Outage in Busan

What happened? Faker played a normal match in League of Legends with his well-known account Hide on bush. But in the game itself, Faker suddenly went AFK. After the match, Faker was reported by at least one of his teammates, as can be seen in this tweet:

As a result, Faker was automatically banned by the system for 14 days. His being AFK was unintentional, as there was a major internet outage in the Korean capital Busan at that time. But the ban didn’t last long, as Faker was quickly unbanned by Riot.

Despite the quick unbanning of Faker, it did not stop the pro from apologizing to Riot. He wrote to Riot: I’m sorry, I won’t leave the game again.
