T1 won the Worlds again in 2024 in League of Legends. Above all, their current team has a large fanbase. But that is now over, as the top laner Zeus is no longer with T1. Instead, they are getting another top laner from a Korean top team.
What happened? After winning the Worlds 2024, it was unclear whether every teammate would stay with T1. All contracts, except for Faker’s, ended in 2024. The question arose whether the dream team of many fans would stay together again. After all, they played together for 3 years. Quite a long time for a LoL team.
The team around Faker, Zeus, Gumayusi, Oner, and Keria was able to secure some victories in the Korean league since 2022, but their biggest success as a team is the double victory at the World Championship. Faker became world champion for the fifth time this year.
Many fans hoped that T1 would attempt to stay the same team in 2025. But now we know that one player is leaving the team: the top laner Zeus.

What is the current status? Since Faker’s contract runs until 2025, it was at least clear that he would also play for T1 next year. Gradually, information came out about the other players.
- First, the contract of support Keria was extended until 2026
- Following that, jungler Oner’s contract, which will also be extended until 2026
- On November 17, the ADC Gumayusi’s contract was also extended, who is likely to stay until 2025
Only regarding the top laner Zeus were some fans unsure, even though many did not believe that T1 would split the team. However, as T1 announced on x.com, Zeus’s contract will not be extended. They thank him for his successes and wish him the best for the future.
Zeus also commented on this already on Instagram. He thanked the individual players of T1, with whom he has been able to play since he was 19: It was an honor for me to be a part of T1 and to receive so much love, and I’m so sorry that I have to leave so abruptly.
Why his contract was not extended is unclear. So far, he has also not joined any other team.
Who will be the new top laner of T1? On the same day, T1 also announced the new top laner. They are acquiring the Korean player Doran. He played last for the Korean team Hanwha Life, even winning the Summer Split of the LCK 2024. In the Worlds, the team was eliminated in the quarter-finals against BLG.
